ebr 16169 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I finally had time to circle back on this issue. I updated my docker to 3.0.5871.0, but still had the same artwork issues. As a test, I opted to rebuild my entire Emby Server DB today to see if that would help (wiped out docker file & create new along with new Emby server install). I spent the afternoon re-adding all my Server settings and waited for all of my library tasks to complete. I cleared out my Android TV settings & launched Emby Android TV app. I now had all of the user account images and the main screen artwork came in quicker than it had in the past. However, once I selected any library section that has a large number of items (Ex. Movies, Music), the missing artwork issues returned. Exiting back to the main screen, now presented missing artwork that was there prior. I also noticed that the 'Collections' section never populates, save a few items. I left my app in the Movies section for 15 minutes straight to see if the artwork would populate over a longer period of time, alas no success (just Gray or Green placeholders). It is almost like the server stalls out. The web interface still has same problems I experienced in my first post. I tried force stopping the Emby App and coming back in, but the same results returned. I even stopped and restarted the new Emby docker, no luck. I confirmed there are no errors on the Unraid server NIC where the Emby Server docker runs, nor on the managed switch that everything is connected to so this is not an internal LAN issue. I have exhausted my options here, any suggestions to resolve? Pancho Only thing I can think of is, if you use CoverArt, try removing it. I have not been able to reproduce this problem since it first happened to me.

Even more because it happens to me also in "Next Up" thumbs... not only covers. Edited February 22, 2016 by anderbytes

Pancho 9 Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 Server log is attached. Thanks. Pancho server-63591672253.zip
anderbytes 141 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Please supply the complete server log file. There it is. For some reason, after the latest restart one of the errors I quoted before hasn't appeared yet.
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Marshmallow was released today for the Nvidia Shield TV. Updated to the latest OS, did a factory reset on the Shield, and re-installed Emby. Same artwork issues occur as before. In addition, I now also see artwork problems on my WMC installs as well.
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 it's server related, nothing to do with the apps. let's focus on the web interface. if you right click one of these movies then -> edit images. what do you see there? are there zero images, or are there slots that look like they're supposed to be images but are empty?
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) In the web interface I simply either get an entire black screen (where the images never populate), or I simply see the black place holders where the images should be. For example, in Web #2, I see one image, but if I place my mouse on it, it just darkens the image, with no other menu options. Right clicking does not provide any other choices. It also doesn't seem to matter what section, they generate similar results. If I leave the web browser on a section for an extended period of time for images to populate, sadly nothing changes. Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 then click on one and pull up the detail screen. then click the dot menu and you can get to edit images that way
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Unfortunately, I literally only see the image nothing else, there is NO DOT menu, or any other options that I would typically see, it's just black. As a test (with web #2 - my exercise folder), even though the right click didn't provide any menu options, I clicked on the image to see if the details page would come up. All I get is another black screen with an endless spinning color circle that never completes. In addition, I have tested this in both Chrome & Firefox and both 32-bit and 64-bit. Same Results. Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 can i see a screenshot of that? what is the url in your browser address bar?
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) Here is the URL: http://192.168.0.10:8096/mediabrowser/dashboard/itemlist.html?parentId=6d42a7df8b781d5be2e2dd630dc5e9fc and attached is the pic of the spinning cursor with no info. Edited February 23, 2016 by Pancho
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Try just using this http://192.168.0.10:8096
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 No luck with the URL. The server was basically unusable, so I stopped and restarted the docker and the web interface began working (where I could right-click on images and had the additional choices). However, when I certain sections (ex. COLLECTIONS under movies, Album Artists under Music, Trailers under movies, Home Videos and choose any folder there), the artwork errors (black placeholders for images) return. If I chose any of those sections, then the web browser basically becomes unusable. I can close the browser tab, re-launch it and the web interface will work again, but if I choose the prior sections, same result.
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 can you provide the server log from that time? thanks.

Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Can you remove the cover art plugin, then try again? please provide the log after testing. thanks.
anderbytes 141 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Can you remove the cover art plugin, then try again? please provide the log after testing. thanks. Luke, sorry for taking too long to reply. In my case... entering details showed the images correctly, be it in movie details or inside edit images. Also... I deleted library.db and rebuilt it... and now the images appear again outside in home screen and listings. This time I hadn`t CoverArt enabled at all... and so far I don`t miss any images. Guess I now have to think 10x before activating that plugin.
Pancho 9 Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Luke, I removed the CoverArt plugin (FYI.. I only used the DIAMOND treatment style in that plugin), stopped the Emby Docker and re-started it. Launched the web interface, and it was lightning quick & all of the artwork worked without issue. I validated that the problematic sections prior worked and I no longer experienced any problems in the web interface. I then moved on to my Nvidia Shield TV (cleared the settings prior to launch), and it also worked without issue. Finally, I confirmed the WMC client is working as well. To be honest, I don't think I have ever seen ANY of my clients work as fast as they do now without the coverart plugin. In the past when the CoverArt plugin was implemented, I did notice significant slow downs when quick scrolling (paging down to a specific letter) in my large sections (like Movies, Music) especially on the WMC client & also the Android TV. Now, everything just flies. It does appear the CoverArt was the culprit here on my end. Thank you so much for all of the troubleshooting. I have included the latest server log (post removal of CoverArt plugin) for your review. server-63591805052.zip
