Glad you are well Glenn!
Any thoughts on my post above with possibly using Darksky as an alternative to get the weather working again?
My screen is stuck on the raining image for the past 6 months (which is usually correct seeing as I'm in the UK but still be nice to have it working again!)

Thanks.

I’ll see what I can have a look at, but no promises...

New Version: 1.315

Change Weather to OpenWeatherOrg from DarkSky (as closing following Apples purchase)
Needs free API key from OpenWeatherOrg - entered into Weather Settings Page.

Re-Merge earlier Emby Remote changes; not carried through to most recent version it would seem
Check Plex connection/Server: Functions correctly; always chooses local client (running on same computer as FrontView)
Reminder:
To setup Plex: select Plex server IP/Port (usually 32400) and username, password for Server.
FV will then display info on the same computer it is running (eg. always local to FV client selected)

As above - hopefully sorts out weather for you moving forward!

Thanks

Just tried the new version and happy to report that the weather is now working correctly again.

Had to look up and change the coordinates for my location from the OpenWeatherOrg site and there was a while before the updated weather came through but all good now

If only I could move the weather info box to the left a bit (and other screen elements) so it is not covered by the date and time - I have to have the font size up so big so I can see it on my 5" case screen, but that's an ongoing issue 😉

Thanks for your continued support Glenn

Glad to hear - yes restart or wait bit for update.  Like darksky need longititude/latitude.

Coming back to size/position:
You may find for your tiny screen (I replaced mine with a standalone cheap 10” led touch screen with box now hidden) that the overall size slider is what you need to change.
Often change font/aspects down (which is counter productive) and then change the whole screen size slider up or down... (the ALL size one)
With this combo of factors can achieve any scale format with a bit of trial and error

Other aspect is sometimes tiny screen will accept a bigger resolution than it has pixels (eg.640x480, but will display scale 800x600) some changes in layout as screen size goes above 640 which may be helpful.

Failing both these always a 2nd screen connected via HDMI/DP....
Can’t find the one I got ages ago, but like.. (this isnt touch screen admittedly...)

@Luke @GlennNZ  I tried downloading the emby plugin from the catalog but it looks like nothing downloads.  I get a folder icon on my installed plugins screen instead of the frontview logo, and I can't find an actual assembly in my programdata/plugin folders.  I also can't find any frontview configuration files anywhere in emby's folder structure.  Thanks.

Server log?

The log where I installed IPTV should be the one ending in .976.  Afterwards I restarted emby It created a new log, and that is the embyserver.txt.

Are you behind a VPN? It looks like something is interfering with the plugin downloads.

No VPN or anything.  The only potential issue MIGHT be that I was recording via playon at the time.  I don´t think that would do anything though

I disabled playon, and i still get the same result.  I'm looking for new plugins to show up in programdata/plugins.  Is that right?  Are there any network settings I need to look at in emby?

Then the other thing to look at might be security software on the machine, but essentially the problem is the download is not succeeding, which makes it appear as though it's being blocked.

IlI peek around the machine and see if I find anything

Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

I poked around and didn't find anything.  Would something like Wireshark help track things down?  Does anyone else have experience. Heading these kinds of issues?

Is there a web address I can go to where I can grab plugins outside of emby server

It looks like I had to pay closer attention to the assembly name.  I was looking for Frontview but the plugin name starts with mediabrowser.  Either way the client app is giving me a bad remote parameters error.  I have already checked my firewall settings at least.  I also looked for the log file for frontview in my program files directory.  @GlennNZ is there any thing you need from me to help figure this out?  Where can I grab a log from if need be?  Thanks.

FrontView+.log 1.24 MB · 2 downloads

Basically Frontview is not authenticating using the password &/or email  and password details you have provided.

There isn’t anything more to it.

I would check this thread for best username etc, and setup etc. this isn’t my usage and I can’t recall details.

Alternatively it is possible there have been some changes on Emby’s end on this front, which FV is failing on.. but no ETA when I have a chance to look.

@Luke. Has authentication changed over the last year or so?  It looks like it was working as of November of last year.

It looks like this is what is happening in emby?

No, but maybe it's using our legacy auth params from years ago? That's all I can think of.
