Possible to disable transcoding no matter what?

I know this issue has been raised in various ways before, but is there a way to force Emby to always Direct Play no matter whether or not it it thinks it can and no matter what my device reports to it about its capabilities?

All of my files are playable on all of my devices yet half the time Emby decides it's going to transcode them anyway. It's frustrating because I know my files can play directly yet it's incredibly difficult to get Emby to understand this (hunting through logs, trying to figure out unique identifiers - which sometimes change with software updates or new ROMS, creating yet another DLNA profile, etc.). So, rather than trying to find ways to "convince" Emby that my device can actually playback whatever codec in whatever wrapper Emby is sending, is there a way to tell Emby to simply pass along the file as a Direct Play regardless of whether or not Emby thinks my device can handle it and I'll deal with the consequence if my device can't handle the file?

One of the advantages of Emby is that it's very lightweight and has extremely low hardware requirements as long as there's no transcoding involved. But, because there's no easy way to disable transcoding for every device all the time, I feel like I'm in a constant battle with Emby just to get it to serve up my files.

Thanks.

Round and round we go. Using the force is restricted to jedis only. Normal users wouldnt understand why a file wouldnt play, when enable this option and the file requires transcoding.

In other words, the simpsons have already did it. This question has been asked ever since auto-detection became the only play method. You are helping by pounding your drum, but not in sync with the rest of us in that other thread.

Please use that other thread to make your points for this feature. Thanks. :')
