Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I've started using Emby this week (and love it), but I have a small problem. I've added 29 folders to the TV media library and i can only see 15 of them at most in 'Manage Folders' since I can't find how to scroll the list. There are no scroll bars and page-up, page-dn, up, down, mouse scroll wheel don't do anything. Any way I can see all of the folders?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) You should only see one folder under "Manger Folders" unless you have multiple TV series library locations. How are you adding your folders? What is your folder structure? TV Series series 1 season 1 series 2 https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV%20naming Edited February 5, 2016 by Happy2Play
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Ive got my tv episodes on 3 disks, in folders like: Disk1 Vids TV 0-9 series 1 series 2 A-D series 3 series 4 . . . Disk2 Vids02 TV 0-9 series 5 series 6 A-B series 3 series 7 . . . Disk3 Vids03 TV 0-9 series 8 series 9 A-D series 3 series 7 series 10 Here are screenshots of how they are entered in Emby. https://imgur.com/a/Nh0pv
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Personally I would just add your \FX6300\xxxxx\TV from each disk and looks at the wiki. Then if your structure is not identified properly manually change your subfolder content types in Metadata Manager.\TV --- content type TV \TV show 1 \Season 1 \Star Trek --- change content type to TV using metadata manager
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 The reason I use the folder layout I use is because other devices with not nearly as good an interface as Emby or Kodi also access these shows and getting to the shows starting later in the alphabet (shows starting with the letter 'U' for example) takes quite a while on those devices if all the shows are lumped in the same folder. The structure I'm using is documented in the wiki article you linked and the the way I'm adding them to Emby's library is also recommened in that Wiki article (in the paragraph right before the paragraph you point out). I can't replace the devices with the lousy interface atm so I'm kinda stuck with using this organization.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Yes point Library to TV not 0-9. Add 1 folder for each disk instead of 4+ locations. I do this for Movies, TV don't have in separate folders yet. I only add \\\\Movies to library instead of individual folders. One is better then 29. Edited February 5, 2016 by Happy2Play
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 That works great for movies, I do that myself, that is why I have only 3 entries in my Movies library, 1 for each disk, even though they are organized the same way. But Emby fails to find 95%+ of the tv shows if I just point it to the 'TV' folder and misidentifies most of what it does find.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 And I posted the fix for that in post #4, You may have to change subfolders content type from inherit to TV. So if I have if I have TV\Reality\Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Emby see Reality as the series instead of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. So in Metadata Manager changing subfolder Reality to TV resolves the issue on next library scan.

I'll live with not being able to see all the folders in the TV Library listing.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 No only your 0-9,A-D ..ect... folders, you never change the series folders themselves, if you do the season folder becomes the series.
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Oops, totally misunderstood that. I'll give that a try, thanks.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I guess I took this OT, so if you really want to see all of added folders you can go to \Emby-Server\root\default\TV and open TV Series.mblink, it is your list of added folders. There are no scroll bars and page-up, page-dn, up, down, mouse scroll wheel don't do anything. Any way I can see all of the folders? What browser are you using?
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Oops, totally misunderstood that. I'll give that a try, thanks. That would be my fault not copying the entire section for wiki.
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 That would be my fault not copying the entire section for wiki. I'm using Firefox.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Are you on 3.05821.0? Fixed in dev and beta •Fix popup scrolling Added 20 dummy folders to my dev server and was able to scroll in FF and Chrome.
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Yes I'm Version 3.0.5821.0. I tried Chrome and the scrolling works fine (scroll wheel, page up and down, up and down keys). I restarted FF (sometimes that will fix problems if I haven't restarted it in some days) and the scrolling still doesn't work in FF (Version 44.0). If I know I can see all the folders in Chrome that is fine, I just wanted to make sure I had added all the folders.
Solution Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 5, 2016 Solution Posted February 5, 2016 It is a similar issues that was identified here and will make it to stable eventually. 1
Decension 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 It is a similar issues that was identified here and will make it to stable eventually. Great, thanks for all your help! I decided not to redo the TV folders in Emby (I'd probably have to reload the watched status's from trakt and while it worked well when I initially set everything up, I'm taking the 'if it aint' broke' approach), I'll definitely try the method you suggested the next time I add a drive

But everyone has there own preference on setup and Emby tries to accommodate.
