Tranquil 94 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hello Forum. I'm using MediaBrowser since a very long time but never used it to play my music archive. With the new Features of MediaBrowser 3 and all those nice plugins, I want to give it a try. But as far as I can see there is no chance to browse through my Folder structure. My library seemed to messed up and its unusable. Any way to do this?
Luke 42077 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 in the web client you can browse the folder structure using the collections menu.
ebr 16169 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 MBC is almost entirely folder-structure based. What client were you using?
ginjaninja 605 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 If u want to clean up the tags, then MB3 collect lots of metadata albumart, artist bios, album bios, artist images,,,visually pleasing and informative. ..try mp3tag and picard utilities to clean up collection. picard can be used to ensure your tags match musicbrainz (useful for correctness, order and metadata fetching) Once youve learnt the utilities basics it is very fast to clean up a collection. I suggest you can achieve about c. 100 Albums an hour, matched to musicbrainz. Ill add a couple of mp3tag regexp actions to utilities section which might save you some time, cleaning up collection into a consistent state. If youre interested i suggest you use mp3tag to quickly carve out the likeness (correct albumartist, and album names, track numbers) then use picard to fine tune the detail (exact track names, artist names, album names) backup collection 1st. when your learning
Tranquil 94 Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) Thanks to all of you for your support! Great community. I'm using the MediaBrowser Classic in my MCE with chocolate Theme which is working like a charm! For listening to Music I'm using a special MCE add-on which is completely folder-based (outside of MB3). ReTagging all my Mp3 should be really the last exit as I'm a mobile DJ and my library is huge and well sorted in its directory structure. Edited December 18, 2013 by Tranquil
