Oddly enough it played fine for me, on both a gen1 and gen2 chromecast. The other videos that you said played fine, do you know if they were also transcoding?

I'm not sure Luke

I've just reinstalled Emby server with same results

Can you provide some log files from videos that do play fine? Thanks.

Hi Luke

Since I've had no response in 2 days I decided to format my PC

So now I have a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit

Only Emby server installed and still I have the same issue

at this point i haven't been able to reproduce it. what do you have chromecast connected to, a receiver, or a tv?

@@dibsta you lack dolby/ac3 support on your television, or pass-through setup. Hence the silence, you should be using mp3/aac and downmixing to 2.0. You shouldnt be using ac3 if you hear the sound of silence. Make sure your equipment supports dolby digital.

Hi Speeckles

You make some valid points but my setup worked one day then it didn't.

I have not changed my TV

The issue is that we're using AC3 because the Chromecast device has auto-detected it as being supported, and true enough, it does work for you on some files.

Hi Luke does this mean I'm out of luck then

No of course not, right now i'm just trying to learn what the issue is.
