Skuldo 1 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 (edited) Hi, My library is setup with mostly MKV rips of DVDs, a fair few of them are Anime, which have forced English subs to translate the Japanese signs, and the usual English subs and English/Japanese dubs. As of yet, I've not managed to be offered the ability to select or change the language and subtitles refuse to show, even the forced ones. I've attempted to play around with the user setting regarding language but this hasn't made any difference. Is there some server option I'm missing to get this to work or is there some bug in the way Emby reads the MKV file (Plex seems to detect the languages and subtitles fine, so I don't believe this is a problem with my MKV files) I'd really like to use Emby more, so any help on this would be great (or if it's a bug I don't mind fixing it if I have some idea of where to look, C#.Net is my thing) transcode-11c1db2a-1672-4d5d-b8c8-d88a6477b3d9.txt ServerLog.txt Edited February 3, 2016 by Skuldo
Luke 42083 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 the file is missing media info. is it possible you're trying to play before the initial scan has completed? if so then wait for that, and/or refresh the content on the detail screen of the web interface under the dot menu.
Skuldo 1 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Wow that was fast It's been fully scanned before, I can force it again if that might help, all my content with subtitles (including movies) has the same problem
Luke 42083 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 we'll have to try to figure out why it happened in the first place but doing that should fix it.
Skuldo 1 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Just tried it and now that episode has full subtitle & audio options thanks. But yeah it's a bit odd how my whole library is suffering from this, will take me forever to manually force each movie/ep, is there any other way I might be able to trigger this?
Luke 42083 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 if you open the metadata manager by clicking edit then you can use the refresh function against a top level folder
Skuldo 1 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Thanks that seems to be doing the trick 1
