theusedversion 36 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Is it possible to change a setting to enable movies to be opened in an external player like VLC whenever I click on the play button in Emby Server? I feel like I saw this setting before somewhere but I can't seem to find it anywhere now. Playback through Emby Server is unusable for me. It doesn't allow me to skip ahead in my movies which is my main concern. I rarely am able to sit down in one sitting to watch a movie through so I need the ability to skip ahead to the last part I saw. And the volume output is weirdly low. Anyways, just wondering about that. I believe Kodi does this, correct? Any help would be much appreciated.

theusedversion 36 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 I will give it a shot but I don't really care for Chrome at all. I think it may have to do with large file sizes. I can skip when I am watching movies of small sizes (or so it seems, honestly haven't been paying attention too much to which file sizes it affects but out of the last two I tried, large size failed to be able to skip and the small size did). The majority of my movies are in the 8GB-16GB range so.

Happy2Play 9782 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 If you really want VLC as your external player, you can have the MPC Remote launch VLC instead of MPC-HC.
