miguelito 0 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 Hi, The subtitle works on Emby theater, however some of the text are too low to read. Is there any way to fix this issue?
AdrianW 1058 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) Are you using this on a TV or a PC monitor? If it's a TV it sounds like your TV is not set to 1:1 pixel mapping ("Just" mode) - that's the first thing you should check. Try running ET in a window rather than full screen - how close to the bottom are the subs now? They should be an equivalent distance when ET is playing full screen. Also, you should be able to bring up the subtitle config by right-clicking the green arrow icon in the notification area (tray) - you'd have to be running ET windowed to get to the tray. BUT - when I tried it ET crashed, so perhaps there's an issue there. Edited February 2, 2016 by AdrianW
miguelito 0 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 My 720p TV doesn't have the 1:1 pixel mapping. I was adjusting with the advance resolution on my iGPU hd 4000. However, it can't resolve the issue. I can read the subs when the ET is not in full screen. But in full screen the subs at the bottom portion would be buried. Subs doesn't have this issue on Emby classic and VLC.
Luke 42078 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 They're all the way at the bottom for you?
miguelito 0 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 They're all the way at the bottom for you? Yes sir.
AdrianW 1058 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 It does sound like the TV is overscanning too much. If not 1:1 mapping, then try some of the other modes, one might be better. "16:9" mode is probably not the best as this will almost always crop all the edge of the image. If it was possible to get into the subtitle config (without it crashing when run via ET) then it would be really easy to move the subs up a few pixels. Maybe Luke will be able to bring a few subtitle settings into ET's config section.
Dazik 46 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Try using MadVR, I had a similar issue with the old theater a couple years ago, never found the cause, but the issue went away when using MadVR over EVR or EVR+.
justpig 27 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I can confirm this issue when using EVR+, it did not happen with EVR. When using MadVR the subtitles are displayed correctly.
miguelito 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 I change to madVR it definitely displayed the subtitles correctly. However, the movie stutters?
Luke 42078 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I change to madVR it definitely displayed the subtitles correctly. However, the movie stutters? madvr requires additional horsepower. your system might just not be powerful enough for it.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Is madVR GPU demanding? Yes, how much varies with your settings.
miguelito 0 Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 I seems like my hd 4000 IGPU is not enough for my 720p TV. I think I'll invest in a dedicated graphics card.

Your HD 4000 should be fine on the default settings. If not I recommend switching the image upscaling and downscaling to DXVA. http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/30199-et-setup-guide-with-madvr-and-bitstreaming-hd-audio/page-1 Edited February 5, 2016 by Jdiesel
