24changer 3 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) I am seeing two servers with the exact same title on the Select Server screen; is this normal? Thanks. Maybe wrong place to post, my apologies. Edited February 1, 2016 by 24changer
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) Maybe one of the pros knows the exact file, but I deleted everything in "%appdata%\Emby Theater" and re-launched ET and it removed extra servers. So one of those files caches the information. Note the Emby Theater folder without the dash. Edited February 2, 2016 by Happy2Play
Luke 42078 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 yea sorry, i haven't yet added the delete function to the theater UI
24changer 3 Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 No worries, just wanted to make sure I hadn't screwed something up. Keep up the great work.
ebr 16174 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 What is the exact scenario that will cause the same server to show up twice when nothing about the server has changed (no new ID or anything)?
Luke 42078 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 What is the exact scenario that will cause the same server to show up twice when nothing about the server has changed (no new ID or anything)? I am guessing it was in fact a re-install, but we'll see when he answers.
Erik 124 Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 I did a reinstall of the sever and also have had the same result of 2 servers in ET.

I thought I was updating to the newest version, but obviously I must have done a re-install. I can select either server and it works as it should. But even with a re-install should it not over write the files instead of creating new or am I misunderstanding how it works?

Depending on the extent of a re-install a user could have a new id created for the same server. And since ET is caching the server list without a delete option you end up with then same server listed two. This should not happen on normal updates. I believe the device.txt contains the id and if it gets delete, the server generates a new one and you get multiple links for the same server.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Narrowed it down to deleting "\Emby Theater\Local Storage" folder removes extra servers. 4
24changer 3 Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Narrowed it down to deleting "\Emby Theater\Local Storage" folder removes extra servers. Cool, I will give it a go. Thanks for the effort.
custardcream 1 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Removing that folder worked for me, though as a (for me, minor) consequence it reverted the ET language back to English.
Luke 42078 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Well sure, that's where all the data and settings are.
