FR-ET Internet movie trailers on ET

Hi all,

It would be useful to have internet trailers on ET too, like web browser.

 

Also helpful when you have a lot of unwatched ones to choose for the night.

I see trailer button only when there is a local trailer.

You might want to explain what you are asking for better.  Are you asking for something different then what the Trailer plugin offer?

On movie page, a trailer button next to play,

So is ET able to stream the YouTube link or will it launch a new browser link the web client does?

not yet but it's definitely possible

The new Emby Theater shows internet based trailers for movies on my setup.

Mine only shows local trailer in ET.  So is it a matter of the format of the trailer tag?

This is what I have for the trailer tag with Rogue Nation:

<trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=E2PwaiVXNm0</trailer>

I have the trailer plugin installed. Also have the movie theme and movie theme song plugins installed.

Weird behavior.The specific movie Rogue Nation shows trailer button and plays trailer inside ET fine.

All .nfo files have tags like: <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=dqQ-GuvG6Mc</trailer>

but only this till now plays trailer inside ET.

 

Same does on web browser, plays fine in web player. 

Other movies open a new tab in web browser and play trailer inside youtube.

 

I have the trailer plugin installed only, not the movie theme and movie theme song plugins.

I'm sure this has to do with whether it is a YouTube trailer or one sourced from somewhere else.

 

YouTube items can only be played in a sanctioned YT player which the web client has ready access to but ET probably doesn't (yet).

Yes that's youtube which hasnt' been implemented in ET yet
