Gionni 1 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Hello! I have Emby in my PC at home and a movie library inside Emby from an HD. I was wondering what would be the best choice about this question: I use often to move to another house to spend some time and I use to bring with me a laptop and the HD with the movies inside, I do not have any Internet connection in this house, what's the best choice about installing Emby for the laptop and have the library done to look for and decide to watch a movie? Thanks.
yardameus 221 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 About the only thing I can think of is have a seperate server set up on your laptop and whatever client you use on the laptop as well.
Gionni 1 Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) I was thinking about the same thing, but my worries are: when I install Emby in the laptop does it recnognize the information movie when I will connect the HD with metadata or it needs to download metadata information again from internet? And... It will work offline in this house where I do not have any internet connection? Edited January 31, 2016 by Gionni
yardameus 221 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Set the server on the laptop to save metadata to the hard drive, and set up your library and everything while you are somewhere with an internet connection. Once you have this set up, it shouldn't be an issue.
ginjaninja 605 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 also consider storing your watched history on trakt to sync between two libraries/servers 1
