metadata manager glitching with episode number

I was editing metadata for something that doesn't have internet metadata, and I included episode numbers. However, I would save my changes and come back and the episode number changed to a year. I'm presuming it was pulling it from the filename (guessing at season and episode numbers). I had to do this 2 and sometimes 3 times on each episode to get it to finally take. I'm not sure exactly what the rhyme or reason is.

 

FWIW I had metadata locked when I did ths.
