playback quality issues

long time fan of MediaBrowser, currently running Server Version 3.0.5083.27698  on Windows 8.1

I've noticed in the last update my playback quality seems to have degraded. I've tested MP4 and AVI (old Divx from 2008) and both show heavy pixilation when played through the Web interface but not when played direct using VLC or Media Player Classic.

 

in all cases the web interface is being used on the server itself, using Localhost

I've tested in IE 11.0.9600 and Firefox 23.0.1

 

any recommendations?

Ya we are not comparing apples to apples (dash is transcoded ).

 

Is this a recent thing or has it always been like this for you? (if you have nothing to compare it too that's fine  )

 

We still have some improvements to make in the dash with sd videos the bitrate is maybe a bit low for some sd content.

 

 

May I please see a server log in debug mode and an ffmpeg log that corresponds to the playback event.

The problem started with the version mentioned, prior to that the files played very well.  I'll see about posting the logs later today.
