Bob 0 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Hey guys, Since the latest update I've added about 5 movies to my library and none of those movies will play past 33%. All movies added before update still work fine. I've also noticed that the chapter thumbnails don't load past that point either. I've tried skipping ahead and nothing happens. I get no error messages and haven't changed anything. I've also rebooted, restarted server, and checked for updates, etc. Any ideas? Thanks bob
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 ebr, I haven't tried another client yet. But will now. @@Tikuf, will it work if I just forward the movie to just before the "33% event" happens, or do I need to watch the whole first 3rd of movie?
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Yeah, last update of what? And how are you playing these items?
Tikuf 663 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Ya it should. If you playback in the dash by selecting a chapter (that has an image) it means we can seek to that point. After that we will have to see what happens. If you could do that and post the ffmpeg log of that playback event TIA
Tikuf 663 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 @@Bob definitely sounds like the files are an issue based on the fact you have no thumbs past the 33% point and you are playing back in classic. What format are the files? What does our media info say? http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/1209-getting-useful-logs-media-info/
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Thank you for the help. I'm still amazed I picked 5 bad movies all from different sources. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket, lol. Thanks again bob
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Sorry, yes it's in classic. The latest update. No 3rd party player.
Luke 42077 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 well if the server was unable to generate thumbnails past 33% then it indicates that ffmpeg is unable to seek past that point. ffmpeg shouldn't even be used for classic playback. In any event, @@Tikuf can diagnose. Probably something with the files.
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Tikuf, I only did 3 of the movies. Link below for files. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxrbaquLPiOCSTI2QVZfWVR1TFk&usp=sharing
Tikuf 663 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Ok do they play past 33%? Can you please test in another browser if you have one available.
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 No they all crashed. one at around 28% one at 33% 50% I'lll try in Plex now
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Again, last update of what? The server? MBC? Also, "the latest" doesn't tell us anything. That is different at different times and you may think you are on the latest but aren't. Please provide actual version numbers. Thanks. in any case, I agree with Luke. Something is probably wrong with the files and it doesn't really have anything to do with whatever update.
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 No they all crashed. one at around 28% one at 33% 50% I'lll try in Plex now And that was in the web client, right?
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Same thing happens in plex and VLC player.
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 So it is definitely the files - or something with the machine.
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Yeah it does kind of point to files doesn't it. The odds of randomly picking five bad movies all at once is still baffling me though. Ant ideas about what I should check on machime?
Bob 0 Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 @@ebr, I'm sorry, I stated classic earlier, but heres everything. Media Browser Classic, update version 3.0.100.0 B12-4.1 @@Luke, I would have thought it was the MKV files also if it was one movie' but it was around five movies from different sources. Occasionally I would get a movie that wouldn't work but when it suddenly became all movies I added shortly after update to version 3.0.100.0 B12-4.1 I got suspicious. The average went from maybe 3% to 100% @@Tikuf, At firtst I thought it was a file issue also untill I notices it was every movie I added after update and all of them stopped playing at 33% Give me a couple minutes on the media info...
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 MBC has very little to do with this. Do they play entirely in the web client, MBT or any other client?
Solution Tikuf 663 Posted December 17, 2013 Solution Posted December 17, 2013 There is a read error in the ffmpeg logs so ya it is def the files. Not sure if you can even fix them as there appears to be data missing. I did find a mkv fixer (which worked much like divx fix) but i cant place my finger on it (nor have I tested it) 1
ebr 16169 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Maybe it is a problem with how they were copied.
cylon 15 Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I have had this issue in MBT with all my ISO Blu-ray movies since MBT came out. I didn't bother raising it as I decided to convert everything to MKV so that MBS could generate thumbnails. They work fine using MBC with MPC-HC as the external player and Daemon Tools Lite for mounting.
Bob 0 Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Just posting this update. Apparently the day I was moving those movies to local storage my seedbox provider was having technical issues. I'm guessing data got lost. I re-transfered movies and everything is perfect. Thanks again Bob
