Is there one other than sending an invite via Emby Connect?

not much other than guests start out with access to fewer features.

I added my wife via invitation.

She created a log in on emby connect.

Her guest invitation is not showing as pending in Guests nor is it showing in Users.

Did you read the instructions after sending the invite? what did they say?

Yes. I'm sorry as I wasn't clear or using the correct terminology.

 

My wife informed me that she accepted the invitation and signed up. She doesn't show up now as a User. Maybe she is not connected properly to my server but I thought that the invitation would make it so that when she signed up she was connected to my server automatically.

 

I also sent an invitation to her friend. IFAIK, she hasn't accepted yet. She doesn't show as "Pending" in the Guests section.

Yes. She sent me a text confirming but who knows what she actually did. I'm going to send an invitation to one of my alternate emails and see what happens there.

I'm also having this issue. Guests that are added are not showing up and they are given full rights to the server.

Sorry, I've been a bit sick since I posted this. Thanks for bearing with me here. 

Settings -> users -> Scroll down to Guests -> add -> put in their email. 

 

I posted this up to the Reddit emby forum as well with a bit more information:
 

So I have a brand new install of Emby. When I add guests, it does not show any pending requests. However, the guest still receives the request, and upon accepting it, they have full access to the server and all Admin settings. Even though they have that access, their account does not show up under users. If I view the active devices, I can see the browser they are using associated to no username.

• Server is 2016
• Clients are all Windows 10
• browsers being used are all chrome

Update: The guest invitation also transferred ownership of the server to the guest.

Hi @@IWumboUWombo, I will look into the pending guests section, thanks for the report. It could just be a display issue.

 

Please be aware though, there is no such thing as "ownership of the server to the guest", so I'm not sure what your perception is about that.

Ok @@IWumboUWombo, I just tested this personally. The Pending Guests section showed up OK for me, but please try again with the next release of Emby Server. It's always possible there is an issue in your version.

 

As far as server management goes, I logged in with the guest account from another device and was not able to access any server management features, so that all worked as expected. Thanks !
