Sort by alternate episode number

With the release of sever beta 3.0.5097.16641 and the addition of the alternate episode number fields I was wondering if it is possible to sort by Dvd episode number.  I probably overlooked it but I would like to sort Firefly by the dvd episode rather than the aired episode number.

Not now but we should eventually be able to do that. I'd like to be able to define the series sort order on the series edit page so that gets applied to every device.

+1. Would love to be able to go back and fix Firefly. I had it in DVD order and way way way back (6 months or so) the server overwrote those changes to make it the aired order. I haven't gone back and fixed it yet, but would be nice to not have to.

well we're talking about display order. so i think the thing we have to look at internally in the dev area, is if a series gets sorted by dvd or absolute, the index numbers will be all jumbled. the dvd and absolute numbers are available on the item but we have to figure out how to tell clients to use that for display rather than index number. or perhaps we create an EpisodeNumber to hold what IndexNumber is holding now, which is the default tvdb value, and then populate IndexNumber based on the sort setting. So those are two different solutions that will both have to be looked at before this can get done. So it's not just a quick thing.
