Device name with special chars (unicode)

Seems device names containing special characters are not displaying correctly in the server. It's been converted to utf-8 client side. Am I doing this wrong or is this an issue server side?

For now you might consider just stripping the diacritics. I am not sure when I will be able to look at this.
