Cannot upgrade Emby Server package

Recommended Posts

I'm running Emby Server on a Raspberry Pi (Debian 8 Jessie) and cannot upgrade to the latest stable Emby server version

The version of Emby-server I got in the terminal console is newer then latest stable version

 sudo apt-get install  emby-server

emby-server is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 7 not upgraded.

osmc@VanDerMedMan:~$ apt-cache policy emby-server
emby-server:
  Installed: 3.0.5851.25221

     3.0.5786 0
        500 http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/Debian_8.0/  Packages

I got version 3.0.5785.0 in the webclient:

Versie 3.0.5785.0

Er is een nieuwe versie van Emby Server beschikbaar!

Versie 3.0.5786.0 is nu beschikbaar voor download.

When I try the specific version installation in the terminal I got a fetch error at the end

 sudo apt-get install -f emby-server=3.0.5786

E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

I tried a apt-get autoclean & clean and then a apt-get update but the fetch error is still there.

What can I do?

Please try again in about half an hour. The packages are being updated, to address some issues. You probably just hit the repos at a weird time.

You should also probably do an apt-get update first.

PS you probably don't have to wait and can use the old packages too, but you have to do an apt-get update first.

Thanks for posting this. I was on the same version as you (3.0.5785.0) and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade (after doing a sudo apt-get update) would not work for the last couple of releases. I ran the command you provided "sudo apt-get install -f emby-server=3.0.5818," and it forced the update and the server to the most recent release.
