Ricy_The_Red 1 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Hi Guys, My set up is a I have a Server set up on one pc connected to a HTPC via Ethernet utilising a projector and a AVR for Audio. I've been using Media browser 2 for years with SHARK007 64bit Advanced Codecs bitstreaming the HD Audio to the AVR via HDMI. Never had a problem. Upgraded to Media Browser 3 Emby and I noticed that the audio being sent to the AVR was Multi PCM. Firstly realised by the AVR not displaying 5.1/DTS whatever on the screen and the audio wasn't surround sound. I checked SHARK007, uninstalled, reinstalled. Read a million forums about LAV Splitter and FFDSHOW. Tried it all, no go. I ended up restoring my HTPC to when I had Media browser 2 and bang it all works fine again. I'm wondering If I'm doing something wrong with the Emby setup? or doesn't Emby for WMC support audio the same way Media browser 2 does? I love the look of Emby but I'd rather stick with having good audio and video in my theatre room. The only thing with media player is not all the coverart downloads as most the websites APIs are changed and media browser 2 doesn't seem to like them any more. Any help would be appreciated and if it's not me, update to fix it would be awesome. Cheers Guys
Solution ebr 16178 Posted January 21, 2016 Solution Posted January 21, 2016 Sounds to me like you probably just didn't setup path substitution to allow EMC to directly access and play your items. Click the "Help" button on the library setup page.
Ricy_The_Red 1 Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Works perfectly now. Thanks mate, appreciate it. 1
wippet 0 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Hi would you mind being a little more specific? I've got the Emby app for Windows 10, but aren't getting Dolby Digital through the Emby player. I used to use PowerDVD with MediaBrowser 3, but can't seem to work out how to launch an external program with this new system.

That is a different app from what was being discussed here (Emby for WMC). I'm not sure if that app supports external players or pass thru audio but you should take your question over to that forum. Thanks.
