Sammy 790 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) I get this error in my notifications about every 6 hours: Error getting channel itemsSystem.Xml.XmlException: The element with name 'html' and namespace '' is not an allowed feed format. at System.ServiceModel.Syndication.SyndicationFeed.Load[TSyndicationFeed](XmlReader reader) at PodCasts.Entities.RssFeed.d__0.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at PodCasts.Channel.d__2e.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at PodCasts.Channel.<>c__DisplayClass40.<b__3b>d__42.MoveNext() Log. This log, from earlier this morning, probably includes the time period of when the notification error occurred which was about 10 hours ago now. BTW, this error doesn't seem to effect anything but maybe is the source of occasional Emby and/or EMC glitches? IDK.. Edited January 20, 2016 by Sammy
Luke 42083 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 one of your podcasts feeds is failing to load. i would remove them one at a time until the error goes away.
Sammy 790 Posted January 20, 2016 Author Posted January 20, 2016 That's easy. I only have one.. Ted Talks.. I'll remove it but if I re-install it will the error return?
Sammy 790 Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 For anyone that might be interested the Ted Talks podcast feed is now located at: https://www.ted.com/talks/rss I changed that in podcasts and it seems to be streaming video just fine now. I'm not sure when this changed but I think it was within the last couple of months; I suspect that this notification error will go away now.
ebr 16187 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Interesting. I still have the feedburner url configured and was watching Ted talks just the other day. What was the url that wasn't working?
Sammy 790 Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Interesting. I still have the feedburner url configured and was watching Ted talks just the other day. What was the url that wasn't working? I was previously simply using http://www.ted.com/ or maybe withe the extension /talks but not with the extension /rss . It worked. Maybe it still was working but IDK. It works now and I'm not getting errors. So what was changed specifically in the update to podcasts overnight?
