zserrbo 0 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Hi! I am a newbie in this topic, and I found it hard to know what are meanings some abbreviations. I saw these are use a lot of times. I am trying to figure out some: Windows Media Center - WMCEmby for WMC - maybe EMC? MBC ?Media Browser - MB - MB3 (e.g. version 3)MBT - Media Browser Theater any other important? Thanks.
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 MBC - Media browser classic MBT and MB/MB3 relate to the same thing EMT/EMB - The current emby media browser/theatre. There isn't a set abbreviation, seems people just make their own up half the time. Haha
bluemonkey07 590 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 MBC - Media Browser Classic (the precursor to EMC)
AdrianW 1058 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 MBT and MB/MB3 relate to the same thing EMT/EMB - The current emby media browser/theatre. MBT = original Media Browser Theatre MB3 was what users were calling Media Browser Classic (the Media Center Add-on) before it was called Media Browser Classic (or MBC) - which is now called EMC (Emby for Media Center). EMT & EMB aren't anything - I've never seen those used before. ET is the abbreviation for the new Emby Theatre. Historically the overall product was originally called Video Browser (years and years ago). It was then renamed to Media Browser, and at some point Media Browser 2 (MB2). 2
b0dyr0ck2006 57 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 It all gets a little confusing. Haha. But thanks for clearing that up
Abobader 3464 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Good day, Just small, regarding "MB3" This was the naming of the new project of the media browser 3 build 3 (when this all starting), it include whatever projects that related to MB3, server, clients ... etc at that time. Now we use Emby as naming. My best 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 yea in general i try not to abbreviate in order to avoid confusion 1
