Not sure if this is a server or MBC issue, so apologies beforehand if this is in the wrong thread...

I have Peppa pig TV series for my daughter, as is (I think) the English convention I call them series1-4.

Problem I have "season" 2&4 have appeared - I guess is the items you don't have stuff as when you try to play them it says they aren't in the collection. any way series & season can be found as one and the same???

Please.

Thank You

There should be 4 seasons, 1 series.  How are the files named?  Peppa Pig s01e01 etc..?

Don't want this to sound rude, but i did say as in the English convention it is series 1 series2 series 3... We do not call anything season that is a US convention.

He was asking how your files are named. Can we find that on amazon?

You have to organise your library as described here. MediaBrowser uses the US naming convention, rather than the UK convention. There is no way to present each "season" as a series.

If you have organised your library with the series labelled "Peppa Pig - Series 1", "Peppa Pig - Series 2", this will confuse media browser, and it will either not recognise it at all, or it will misidentify the seasons.

For example, it should work if you name your files like this:

Peppa Pig/Season 1/Peppa Pig s01e01.mkv
Peppa Pig/Season 1/Peppa Pig s01e02.mkv
Peppa Pig/Season 1/Peppa Pig s01e03.mkv

Peppa Pig/Season 2/Peppa Pig s02e01.mkv

That is, Peppa Pig "series" 1, episodes 1 to 3, and "series" 2, episode 1.

Aphid - what would be an example of a uk structure? i think if season folders were called series 1, series 2, etc, that would be fine.

My structure works fine, i just get extra "seasons".

And, the amazon link was to show that we go series 1 series 2 series 3... No seasonal tv here.

Thanks

Luke - We call seasons "series", kind of like if season 2 were a new series which is a sequel to the first. I'm not really sure what folder structure someone would use for this, as every piece of software I've used has expected things to be sorted into seasons. Yes, this is totally ambiguous and confusing.

I suppose you would be most likely to see someone who has "Show Name/Series X/sXXeXX", like how Lee has done.

i feel like that should be fine, as series is just an alternate folder name to season.

can you find TvUtils and test out adding series to SeasonFolderNames ? If it works well, put a comment in there explaining it.

Thanks guys..

Like i said it does work fine, it's only as upcoming shows was added to the server/client that seasons appeared with series.

I could just rename them i guess but most of my cover art for uk stuff says "series 1" etc...

So, do all the other "series" show up as expected?  With extra "season 2 and season 4" mixed in with them?

All my other series are complete.

Boardwalk empire i only have season one, but as that is a us show i named it season one!! The other 4(?) do show up but i don't have them...

I assume in series 2&4 some of the episodes are missing and rather than showing in the series folder a new season folder is created.

please post your server version, mbc version, as well of screenshots of the folders, screenshots of what they look like in the web client, and screenshots of the media library setup in the dashboard.

Looks like this is a MBC issue no season folders in server..

Does the server dashboard do upcoming shows??

I moved this to FR because it sounded to me like he was simply requesting that we treat "Series" as a valid name for "Season".
