On the server dashboard, choose manage server, click users, then click your username. You will see similar to the above. Did you uncheck the boxes for allow video and audio transcoding?

i was wondering if it might be an hdmi hdc thing. i think we'll need to see exactly what the error message is. @@Gelowitz, can you tell us exactly what it says? thanks.

Yeah, it could be what is shown above.

If it looks like this usually it is the TV. Fall back to roku homescreen, then turn off and back on the TV. If you unplug the hdmi from the roku and use it on another device. This can break hdcp. Then when plugged back into the roku, hdcp remains broken. The roku will give this purple screen.

This can also be caused by setting the roku in 1080p mode, when the tv can only output in 720p. The roku3 has a 720p gui with capability to output video up to 1080p. The roku4 has a 1080p gui with capability for video up to 2160p.

Also, the hdmi cable must be 1.4 compliant or better. For roku 4 in uhd resolution it must be 2.2 compliant.

Thank you The screen shot was exactly the error message. I'll check my cables to see what they are and try your suggestions. Thanks.
