Moved metadate storage location but Emby still saving to old location

As stated in the post title.  It must be something I'm missing, I've scoured the Ember Server settings to change the locations of metadata storage but it stills saves to the old one.  When I run a new library scan, Emby thinks I no longer have the music artists folder and downloads them to the old location, but I've got all that metadata moved to a new location (and deleted the old location).  I've changed the new location in the metadata path location.  Same thing when I run the Refresh People task...it tries to repopulate all that data in the old location, when I've moved it all.

I've restarted the server a few times and rebooted the PC as well.

I also lost my customized Home Screen images.  It defaulted back to the standard ones and I had to re-submit my custom ones again.  I keep updated them back to the my customized thumbs (which are now stored in the new location as well) but it keeps getting rid of them and back to the default thumbs whenever I do a library scan.  What gives?  There's got to be a path location update I'm missing somewhere...

Using web client BTW

Sound like you may have and old system.xml that still contains your IBN location.  Check it for <ItemsByNamePath>your path</ItemsByNamePath>.  If it contains that line that is why.  I believe you have to set <MergeMetadataAndImagesByName></MergeMetadataAndImagesByName> to true also.

If you don't have this line in your system.xml you will need to post a log to verify settings.

As for Home Screen images how are you changing them?  This could be from <EnableUserViews></EnableUserViews> that was removed also.  You should go to the dashboard-Library and update them there and delete the ones on the Home Screen, the Home Screen will re-cache the images from Library.

Thanks!!  Changing ItemsByNamePath was still pointing to the old location, so that I fixed that!  Ran the Library Scan and no new folders in the old location, so that's all good.  As for the MergeMetadataAndImagesByName that shows as FALSE currently.  I didn't change it yet because I wanted to ask exactly what would does that command line perform before I do change it.Thanks for all the help BTW!

Sucks that this step isn't more user friendly to change.  The average user wouldn't know to start digging through the XML file to make changes like that.

Oh and as for the Home Screen images, in the Dashboard, they never changed from the custom ones I uploaded, that is where I changed them.  It just doesn't match in the web client.  I can change them there and it's fine temporarily.  but now that I cahnged that one path in the XML it looks like it's sticking now.  On a side note, I have a few other users and I can't change their Home Screen images at all and they do not match the dashboard images..they are the default Emby ones

The IBN and Metadata paths were merge several months ago but old installs were not affected, only new installs.  There are a lot of changes like that in place to not upset current users.  If you just changed your ItemsByNamePath path to where you want it you are fine and don't need to mess with MergeMetadataAndImagesByName.  But if you cleared out/deleted the temsByNamePath path you would need to set the MergeMetadataAndImagesByName to true.

I would open another topic on you Home Screen images issue with specific examples.  Or search and see if there are other topics related to your issue, I know there are several.
