Playback stops after 1 minute

Hello,

 

I bought an emby premiere lifetime subscription yesterday, entered the key for the server (running on CentOS 7.2) and tried using Emby Theater on Windows 10 (version 1.0.24). For some reason my playback stops after 1 minute. I tried reinstalling the client & restarting the server.

The server managment page says "Thank you for supporting Emby." so it seems to have registered Emby Premiere. My emby server has an IP in the 10.0.20.x/24 network on a seperate VLAN than the client which is on 10.0.50.x/24 if that matters (no rules blocking traffic currently between the two networks). Does that not count as activating on local network?

 

My wife can use the Emby for Android Mobile just fine from her tablet even though her WiFi AP is "outside" my network (192.168.178.x/24, port forwarded to pfsense router/firewall -again another VLAN - which forwards to emby). Though they all share the same public facing WAN IP. Could the double NAT be a problem? (WAN -> 192.168.178.x LAN (wifi & pfsense) -> pfsense -> 10.0.x.x LAN (emby, desktops)).

This gave me an idea: I am at work currently so I connected via OpenVPN, downloaded Emby Theater, connected to http://emby.mydomain.com:8096and started a playback: again it stops after 1 minute. Next I switched server and connected to http://10.0.20.6:8096 directly and voila - playback works. Not sure if this is an error on my end or with Emby Theater: I run a bind server for internal DNS, forward and reverse DNS lookup for emby.mydomain.com/10.0.20.6 work fine. The DNS server is set as first DNS for both emby server and my windows 10 client.
