paul777 13 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I have noticed that the amazon fire tv stick doesn't have the power to decode anamorphics stream - such as those from encoded DVDs without the video glitching every 5 seconds or so. Is it possible to mark the FTVS as not supporting anamorphic video is some way to force a server side transcoding?
ebr 16169 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Not sure if this can be done from the profile system. Perhaps. If you disable VLC, does it play back properly?
paul777 13 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 No, the glitches happens with VLC enabled or disabled.
ebr 16169 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 So, I guess, even when you turn off VLC, it is direct streaming?
paul777 13 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 yes, currently it seems to direct stream with VLC on or off. I have noticed in the logs that sometimes I think it will transcode the audio but leave the video as a stream copy.
