Loondawg 18 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) How are you supposed to name movies that have reserved characters in the title that are not supported by the operating? For example, I have movies like "V/H/S" and "Naked Gun 2 1/2" that contain the forward slash "/" character. I found if I remove the "/" Emby finds the wrong movie. And I have others with colons ":" that have a similar problem. Is there a replacement character that is supposed to be used? Or how are you supposed to handle naming movies that have characters not supported by the OS? Edited January 17, 2016 by Loondawg
overClocked! 65 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 In situations like these, you are probably going to have to name the media files/folders using a supported character set (like an underscore, hyphen, or spell out "one-half") and use the Identify feature in the Metadata Manager to ID the media. Just pick the correct option in the search results and Emby will do the rest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I just leave those characters out and include the release year in my title. So V/H/S (2012) would become VHS (2012) and I've not had an issue with the identification on those films. If I did I could just use the manual identify tool and as long as I store my metadata in the media folders I'll never have to do it again even on a server rebuild.
