Menissalt 17 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) After an update a few days back the server stopped running at startup. The option is still checked in the configuration, it's enabled in Windows start up, I'm at a loss for why it won't start. Running the server manually works without any issue. ::Fixed:: So almost immediately after I posted this I noticed that there were multiple entries for Emby to run at start. Using AVGs startup tuner I deleted two of them and Emby now starts normally. Edited January 17, 2016 by Menissalt 1
Strudo76 7 Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Same problem here, same solution The emby logs showed one startup that progressed quite a way, and another that ended up with cancelling due to an already running instance, In that users startup folder there was a startup file for emby and one for media browser. I assumed the latter was a legacy one, deleted it and restarted the server on system restart.

bxpressiv 1 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 (edited) Using AVGs startup tuner I deleted two of them and Emby now starts normally. Same problem and although I couldn't find a second instance of the server trying to load one pass of AVG tune-up fixed the problem....for one boot and now still not loading. Luke 42083 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Perhaps your antivirus tampered with the installation? we've seen this before. I would suggest installing from our website on top of your existing version. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks ! 1
bxpressiv 1 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Thanks Luke, I got round to that as part of my troubleshooting and it's worked. I needed to download an installation for the 3.2.60.0 update and that seemed to fix the failing to start with Windows issue.
