moviefan 187 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 For most of my boxsets I use the standard convention on TMDB and this seems to work well. I have a handful of collections, however, that are not Standard Collections, such as my Christmas Movies collection. When MB scans these collections it always tries to match it up with one of the TMDB collections which I totally understand. But I want to disable it in just a few instances. I realize that I can edit my changes, save them, and then disable Internet Metadata Providers for the collection which does achieve what I am looking to do. However, in doing this it also disables metadata providers for all of the individual titles within the collection which is not my preference. Even if I disable metadata providers for the collection and then go and re-enable it for all of the nested folders this setting is ignored and stays disabled because of the collection setting. It would be nice if this setting was specific to the folder it is set on rather than forcefully propagated to all child items and unchangeable.
Luke 42077 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 it is initially propagated but then you can re-enable for child items
moviefan 187 Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) That is not working for me. If I click on a Child item, enable metadata, save, and to see if it saved click on anything else and then back, the setting is disabled again which to me indicates it is not saving properly. I went through and did this for all child items at first before I realized it wasn't working. I can't get it to save with metadata enabled for any of them while the parent collection item has it disabled. Edited December 14, 2013 by moviefan
Solution Luke 42077 Posted December 15, 2013 Solution Posted December 15, 2013 i have tested this and i cannot reproduce the problem, so i would say try it out once you have the new server version. 1
moviefan 187 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 After upgrade the issue was fixed. Thanks!
fraenhawk 61 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Which version fixed this, because I'm having the same problem (or similar). I uncheck enable metadata for the collection, it propogates down to the children I guess (which i wish it wouldn't do if "Refresh child items isn't checked") and then I think the next parts are visual bugs of the editor. First, the lock does not show up on the list for those items - there should be an auto-refresh after save IMO. I didn't even realize it was propagating at first because it wasn't refreshing the child items. So even though it looked like you were having problems with the metadata, I wonder if it was really just a refresh issue. Occasionally also, even though the enable internet metadata may be unchecked on an item, the Fields on/off toggles are showing - which only show up when it is checked. If I click the pencil again it forces a refresh of the whole list with changes I made previously and then I see that it was really checked. I'm currently running on release updates and am on version 3.0.5112.40848 Thanks Edited January 3, 2014 by fraenhawk
