alex3137 99 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Hello. I use Emby server Version 3.0.5786.0 and the new Emby Theatre with Premiere subscription. Playback does not work and hangs (spinning multicolor loading sign) after I click the play button. I attached the logs from the server and Emby Theatre just before I started the playback. Could you kindly advise ? Thanks theater-63588578419.txt emby-server.txt
Luke 42077 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Hi, as a test, can you try running through the windows sound setup wizard? thanks.
alex3137 99 Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Which wizzard are you talking about ? I went into my sound properties, selected my speakers and clicked "configure". It tested individually each speaker but I still have the same problem in Emby Theatre. Something similar to this but under Windows 10: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/get-high-definition-sound-and-music-from-your-computer
Guest asrequested Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 What files are you trying to play, and how do you have your setup configured?
alex3137 99 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Files are in the logs, I run Emby in an OpenVZ container behind a reverse proxy and I connect remotely over the internet with my devices.

Blackvelvet 0 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) This is the exact same behaviour that I have (topic : Can't play any video's, circle...seems to be "hanging/loading" ) Playback doesn't work, multicolor circle spins...that's it... **update I ran the windows audio-config and now an extra "audio" square showed up in the Theater settings... When I select MadVR in the Video settings and I play a video, I have sound, but no video... so I'm a tiny step closer... If I select one of the other @ (EVR and EVR+ I believe) then nothing happens... Should I install a specific codec/filter ? grtz Edited January 17, 2016 by Blackvelvet
alex3137 99 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) did you change any audio settings in emby theater, or are they default? Indeed and I had set Audio bitstreaming mode to "HDMI". I reverted to "none" and now playback works ! However subtitles are not displaying Edit: added log files theater-63588662072.txt server.txt Edited January 17, 2016 by alex3137
Guest asrequested Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) What hardware acceleration and audio renderers are you guys using? Hardware acceleration should be at auto. Installing other filters at this point, won't do anything. Luke is working on providing a disabling native decoding option. My settings are: Hardware acceleration: Auto Video renderer: MadVr Audio Bitstreaming: HDMI Audio Renderer: Default I'm running an i7 6700K processor, and I have no problems. Some guys have been having issues with Nvidia GPUs and setting hardware acceleration to Nvidia CUVID. Alex, it sounds like you're having an audio decoder issue. Are you having the same issue with all files or just HD? Check audio streams in you files. Make sure your receiver can decode the streams. Your sound is working with bitstreaming off, because the software is transcoding it, probably to 2 channel. Find a file that has basic 6 channel AC3 and try it with HDMI enabled.
