Latest version, IR remote controls

Started testing out the new Emby Theater last night, and was a little confused with the control scheme.

I know this is still a work in progress, so I just wanted to clarify if I was missing something or doing something wrong.

I have an Intel NUC with an IR port, and use a WMC compatible remote.

I can't seem to skip a head or skip back when watching videos. Also, the play or pause button basically does nothing.

Is it just that the remote functionality hasn't been fully implemented yet? Or do I need to fix something at my end?

That's what I just got told on the other thread.  Seems odd they'd implement some of the functionality, but not all of it. Wouldn't think it'd be that hard to make all the remote buttons functional right off the bat... But I know absolutely jack about programming so I'm just going to take them at their word! lol  :-)

they made it some 6 button scheme.. like a firetv remote. left right arrow for skipping, down arrow to show the pause button

well 6 is the baseline goal but don't worry we will be supporting all the usual buttons

Ahhh! That's what was going on! Makes sense now.. I really hope proper controller support gets added soon though. Seems weird to have this "6 button" control scheme on a PC client.

It's the main reason we don't use the new Emby Theater yet. Well, I do, just because I always like to test the new toys out, lol. But no one else in my house can stand to use the new ET in its current state. This control issue being the main reason, combined with backing out of details screen's/etc. being very buggy, the less-than-intuitive method of getting to an episode detail screen, and the auto-logging in of the last user not being optional.

I really like where ET is headed (looks basically the same, but more polished, which is a good thing IMO!), but the current bugs are something that I thought would have been ironed out before a public release.

controller support is already there - well, it supports the input but whether or not it chooses your desired button layout is another matter for another time. if your controller isn't registering anything at all then that means it's just not working with the input mechanism we've chosen to use.

Speaking of which, Xbox One Wireless Controller doesn't work at all.  All good, I have patience (plus a MCE remote anyway) :)
