cw-kid 192 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Hi There is some issue with the nfo files that Emby creates and native Kodi / MYSQL using these to import new content, on many of my movies in native Kodi they have missing media flags for the media type. Mainly seems to affect XVID but could be others as well, I will have to check and write a list of what works and what doesn't? Native Kodi (Isengard) / MYSQL - OpenElec Kodi (Isengard) beta Emby add-on for Kodi - Windows 10 As you can see it works OK in Kodi using the Emby add-on. I know most people using Emby server will also be using the Kodi add-on for Emby, however on my main OpenElec HTPCs I am not, until the Kodi add-on has been pretty much finished in development. Emby created NFO file for this movie title <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <movie> <plot>Heiress Joanna Stayton hires carpenter Dean Proffitt to build a closet on her yacht -- and refuses to pay him for the project when it's done. But after Joanna accidentally falls overboard and loses her memory, Dean sees an opportunity to get even.</plot> <outline>A cruel but beautiful heiress screws over a hired carpenter, who later is the first one to find her when she gets amnesia. ebr 16184 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 IOW - compare that nfo file to a Kodi-generated one that shows the proper tag.
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 The main issue with native Kodi using Emby's nfo files seems to be that the majority of my XVID movie titles do not show an XVID media flag for some reason. But there are some that do show the XVID flag OK however, so not sure what the difference is with the ones that seem to be working and the ones that are not. I don't think I have any Kodi generated nfo files? They have all been either created by or edited / updated by Emby server at this point. Media flags - Content Types displayed in native Kodi (issues in brackets) Native Kodi H265 H264 XVID (only some of the movie titles show XVID, a lot of them have a missing icon) AVC1 (these tend to show as H264 instead in Kodi with the Emby add-on) DIVX (in Emby with the Kodi add-on for a movie title I saw, all the media flags are missing apart from the parental rating) Bluray MPG2 VC-1 Here is an Emby nfo file for a movie title that is showing an XVID flag OK in native Kodi. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <movie> <plot>The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.</plot> <outline>The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.</outline> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2014-01-10 22:26:49</dateadded> <title>Captain Phillips</title> <originaltitle>Captain Phillips</originaltitle> <director>Paul Greengrass</director> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=eruwOiHoTTo</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=RiAPU3pZlD0</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=DKupcz__0uY</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=WXo5mSn35a8</trailer> <rating>7.7</rating> <year>2013</year> <mpaa>PG-13</mpaa> <website>http://www.captainphillipsmovie.com</website> <imdbid>tt1535109</imdbid> <tmdbid>109424</tmdbid> <premiered>2013-10-10</premiered> <releasedate>2013-10-10</releasedate> <criticrating>93</criticrating> <criticratingsummary>Smart, powerfully acted, and incredibly intense, Captain Phillips offers filmgoers a Hollywood biopic done right -- and offers Tom Hanks a showcase for yet another brilliant performance.</criticratingsummary> <votes>1048</votes> <budget>55000000</budget> <revenue>95000000</revenue> <metascore>83</metascore> <runtime>134</runtime> <tagline>Out here survival is everything.</tagline> <country>United States of America</country> <genre>Action</genre> <genre>Drama</genre> <genre>Thriller</genre> <studio>Scott Rudin Productions</studio> <studio>Michael De Luca Productions</studio> <studio>Trigger Street Productions</studio> <plotkeyword>ship</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somalia</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>fisherman</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>blood</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>poverty</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>pirate</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>terrorism</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>commando</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>hijack</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>cargo ship</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>ship captain</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somali pirates</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>ship hijacking</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somali</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>hijacking</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>commando unit</plotkeyword> <awardsummary>Nominated for 6 Oscars. Luke 42078 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 and yet nowhere in that file does xvid appear. it's because those three in the middle are all derivatives of h264 or mpeg4 and in our case that's all we really need to know. i'm surprised the kodi interface doesn't support mpeg4 as one of those values. anyway we do have the data to fix this you'll just need to figure out what needs to go where.
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 OK this is interesting Captain Philips in native Kodi was showing an XVID flag. I then went in to the Emby metadata manager and refreshed that title. I then refreshed the title in native Kodi and used the nfo to update it. Now Captain Philips in native Kodi has a missing XVID flag. Here is the nfo file for it now after this change <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <movie> <plot>The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.</plot> <outline>The true story of Captain Richard Phillips and the 2009 hijacking by Somali pirates of the US-flagged MV Maersk Alabama, the first American cargo ship to be hijacked in two hundred years.</outline> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2014-01-10 22:26:49</dateadded> <title>Captain Phillips</title> <originaltitle>Captain Phillips</originaltitle> <director>Paul Greengrass</director> <writer>Billy Ray</writer> <credits>Billy Ray</credits> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=eruwOiHoTTo</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=RiAPU3pZlD0</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=DKupcz__0uY</trailer> <trailer>plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=WXo5mSn35a8</trailer> <rating>7.7</rating> <year>2013</year> <mpaa>PG-13</mpaa> <website>http://www.captainphillipsmovie.com</website> <imdbid>tt1535109</imdbid> <tmdbid>109424</tmdbid> <premiered>2013-10-10</premiered> <releasedate>2013-10-10</releasedate> <criticrating>93</criticrating> <criticratingsummary>Smart, powerfully acted, and incredibly intense, Captain Phillips offers filmgoers a Hollywood biopic done right -- and offers Tom Hanks a showcase for yet another brilliant performance.</criticratingsummary> <votes>1316</votes> <budget>55000000</budget> <revenue>95000000</revenue> <metascore>83</metascore> <runtime>134</runtime> <tagline>Out here survival is everything.</tagline> <country>United States of America</country> <genre>Action</genre> <genre>Drama</genre> <genre>Thriller</genre> <studio>Scott Rudin Productions</studio> <studio>Michael De Luca Productions</studio> <studio>Trigger Street Productions</studio> <plotkeyword>ship</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somalia</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>fisherman</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>blood</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>poverty</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>pirate</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>terrorism</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>commando</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>hijack</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>cargo ship</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>ship captain</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somali pirates</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>ship hijacking</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>somali</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>hijacking</plotkeyword> <plotkeyword>commando unit</plotkeyword> <awardsummary>Nominated for 6 Oscars. cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 AVC1 and DIVX for the movie titles I looked at, are correctly showing their flags OK in native Kodi. It only appears to be XVID flags that are actually missing in native Kodi, but only for some movie titles not all.
Luke 42078 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 yea and the term xvid doesn't even appear in the nfo so it's unclear if we need to do anything or not
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 I don't Know how native Kodi translates the video codec information in the Nfo to then display an Xvid flag but its clearly not working as it should. I know to get all the media flags working properly in Kodi with the Emby add-on @@Angelblue05 had to do some kind of mapping. But it seems since then there is now a new problem with AVC1 titles being displayed all as H264 and Divx flags. may now be missing, as that was working previously. Angelblue can fix this part probably. So there are three problems here, the main one for the server team is why the Emby nfos make the Xvid flags in native Kodi disappear?
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) OK this is a bit unexpected. I deleted the Captain Philips NFO file and then I refreshed it again in native Kodi and the XVID flag was still missing. I would have expected it to come back. However keep in mind this title was originally showing an XVID flag OK. It was only when I refreshed the title in the Emby metadata manager and then refreshed it in native Kodi using the local information that the XVID flag vanished. I then removed the title completely from the native Kodi library. I then scanned it back in to the native media library using the Kodi universal movie scraper and the XVID flag is now back again OK. So this tells me that native Kodi on its own using that scraper is working. Yet whenever an Emby created / edited nfo file is some how in the loop it seems to not work. cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 OK I have found the DIVX one again its called "Welcome to Me" currently in Kodi with the Emby add-on only the parental rating flag is displayed. In native Kodi they are all shown OK, In the Emby web GUI it currently looks like this and all the codec information is missing After refreshing the title in the metadata manager the codec information is now present as it should be. And in Kodi with the Emby add-on all the flags are now present after the incremental sync. So the DIVX one may have just been a one off problem some how. I will see if I can find more DIVX or create one for further testing. Angelblue is looking in to the AVC1 flag issue now. And the main issue with the XVID flags in native Kodi and the Emby nfo's I am not sure who can / needs to fix it? Cheers
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) OK @@Angelblue05 has seen the new problem with the AVC1 flags not being displayed correctly in Kodi with the Emby add-on and should be fixed / working again in the next beta of the add-on. You will need to run a repair sync in the Emby program add-on though and restart Kodi. After further testing, there wasn't in the end an issue with DIVX flags in Kodi with the Emby add-on. Which now only leaves the main issue in this thread of missing XVID flags in native Kodi when using the Emby NFO files. Thanks Edited January 14, 2016 by cw-kid 1
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Also just noticed native Kodi has missing DIVX media flags as well as missing XVID flags. None of these were missing in native Kodi originally. In fact back in July 2015 when @@Angelblue05 and I tested all the various video containers / variants and he then fixed all the media flags in Kodi with the Emby add-on, I stated the following 101 Dalmations (AVI) - Reported by Emby Server as MSMPEG4 Level -99 Native Kodi / MYSQL media flag = DIVX resolution flag = 480P aspect flag = 4:3 audio flag = MP3 Kodi / Emby add-on media flag = DIVX resolution flag = 480P aspect flag = 4:3 audio flag = MP3 This meant that both native Kodi / MYSQL and Kodi with the Emby add-on, were both at that time correctly showing a DIVX media flag. Now today only Kodi with the Emby add-on is still showing the DIVX media flag. In native Kodi / MYSQL for this particular movie title the DIVX flag is now missing. So something is different has changed at some point and is causing various media flags in native Kodi to vanish, but quite what that is I am unsure. Likewise back in July 2015 Year One (AVI) - Reported by Emby Server as MPEG4 Native Kodi / MYSQL media flag = XVID resolution flag = 480P aspect flag = 1.85:1 audio flag = MP3 Kodi / Emby add-on media flag = XVID resolution flag = 480P aspect flag = 1.85:1 audio flag = MP3 This meant that both native Kodi / MYSQL and Kodi with the Emby add-on, were both at that time correctly showing a XVID media flag. Now today only Kodi with the Emby add-on is still showing the XVID media flag. In native Kodi / MYSQL for this particular movie title the XVID flag is now missing. Here is how we setup the AVI container and the media type flags for the Emby Kodi add-on, AVI FourCC Description Code / FourCC Used Codec xvid / XVID (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile & MPEG4 Simple Profile) - Shows XVID media flag xvid / XVID (MPEG4) No profile - Shows XVID media flag div3 / DIV3 (MSMPEG4) - Shows DIVX media flag divx / MP43 (MSMPEG4) - Shows DIVX media flag divx / DX50 (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile & MPEG4 Simple Profile) - Shows XVID media flag Note: Seems both native Kodi and Kodi / Emby show XVID rather than DIVX for DX50. cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 @@Luke @@Angelblue05 OK I installed a clean refresh native version of Kodi Isengard. I then imported "Captain Philips" using Kodi's Universal Movie Scraper and ran the Kodi video library export to create a Kodi NFO the result is this: <fileinfo> <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid</codec> <aspect>2.368421</aspect> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <durationinseconds>8043</durationinseconds> <stereomode></stereomode> </video> <audio> <codec>ac3</codec> <language></language> <channels>6</channels> </audio> <subtitle> <language></language> </subtitle> </streamdetails> </fileinfo> And here are the stream details from an Emby created NFO for the same "Captain Philips" video file. They are quite clearly different ! <fileinfo> <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1186757</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97604</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>134</duration> <durationinseconds>8044</durationinseconds> </video> <audio> <codec>ac3</codec> <micodec>ac3</micodec> <bitrate>256000</bitrate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <channels>6</channels> <samplingrate>48000</samplingrate> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> </audio> <subtitle> <codec>srt</codec> <micodec>srt</micodec> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> </subtitle> </streamdetails> </fileinfo> So I am assuming native Kodi doesn't know what to do with mpeg4 and that is why the XVID flags are going missing. Yet in Angelblue's Kodi add-on for Emby, he is mapping mpeg4 to show XVID flags as per our predefined rules. xvid / XVID (MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile & MPEG4 Simple Profile) - Shows XVID media flag xvid / XVID (MPEG4) No profile - Shows XVID media flag Luke has the Emby Server changed the way it collects the video file stream (mediainfo) data since July 2015 ? As I am sure back then this wasn't a problem for native Kodi. Many thanks
cw-kid 192 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Like wise a similar problem with DIVX Here is a native Kodi created NFO file for an AVI (DIVX) file (101 Dalmations). Note the codec is <codec>div3</codec> <fileinfo> <streamdetails> <video> <codec>div3</codec> <aspect>1.400000</aspect> <width>560</width> <height>400</height> <durationinseconds>4767</durationinseconds> <stereomode></stereomode> </video> <audio> <codec>mp3</codec> <language></language> <channels>2</channels> </audio> </streamdetails> </fileinfo> And here is the Emby created NFO file for the same AVI file Note the codec is <codec>msmpeg4</codec> <fileinfo> <streamdetails> <video> <codec>msmpeg4</codec> <micodec>msmpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1091130</bitrate> <width>560</width> <height>400</height> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>79</duration> <durationinseconds>4767</durationinseconds> </video> <audio> <codec>mp3</codec> <micodec>mp3</micodec> <bitrate>127992</bitrate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <channels>2</channels> <samplingrate>48000</samplingrate> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> </audio> </streamdetails> </fileinfo> So again in this case native Kodi doesn't know what <codec>msmpeg4</codec> is. So the DIVX icon goes missing. Currently in native Kodi it is displaying the DIVX icon OK. However if I refresh the title and use the Emby created NFO file the DIVX icon goes missing. However in Kodi with the Emby add-on it works and shows the DIVX flag, because of our predefined rules div3 / DIV3 (MSMPEG4) - Shows DIVX media flag So it seems to me as if this will never work and the Emby NFO files will not display XVID or DIVX flags in native Kodi. Because Emby is not reporting the stream details correctly. Or at least reporting them differently to mediainfo. <codec>div3</codec> VS <codec>msmpeg4</codec> and in the other example <codec>xvid</codec> VS <codec>mpeg4</codec> So the upshot of all this is - it is only going to affect users who use Emby Server so family members can have remote access for example, but they are still using native Kodi either with MYSQL or SQLlite. (I guess there might be an option to turn off Emby server creating the NFO files which might do the trick). These media flag issues won't affect users who are using Emby Server and also using the Emby add-on for Kodi as well, as we spent a lot of time working it all out and doing the mapping so the flags do show correctly. 2
cw-kid 192 Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Hi My server just updated to beta version 3.0.5849.0 I deleted the NFO file for "Captain Philips" and then refreshed the title in the metadata manager, this then created another new NFO file. The stream details however still look the same as before. So I am not sure what "Update codecs written to nfo's for display in Kodi" meant in Luke's change log, unless its not related to this thread. <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1186757</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97604</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>134</duration> <durationinseconds>8044</durationinseconds> </video> <audio> <codec>ac3</codec> <micodec>ac3</micodec> <bitrate>256000</bitrate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <channels>6</channels> <samplingrate>48000</samplingrate> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> </audio> </streamdetails> If I then go on to refresh the title in native Kodi the media type flag is still missing. Cheers
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Hi @@Luke cc.. @@Angelblue05 Just looking at this issue again to see if anything has changed with it? First movie title I looked at was (Year One) The existing Emby generated .nfo in its folder, the video stream section looks like this: <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>849950</bitrate> <width>528</width> <height>288</height> <aspect>1.85:1</aspect> <aspectratio>1.85:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>100</duration> <durationinseconds>5972</durationinseconds> </video> I then removed that .nfo file from the folder and in the Emby web GUI I found the title and refreshed it, so a new .nfo file was created. Its video stream looks like this: <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid;</codec> <micodec>xvid;</micodec> <bitrate>849950</bitrate> <width>528</width> <height>288</height> <aspect>1.85:1</aspect> <aspectratio>1.85:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>100</duration> <durationinseconds>5972</durationinseconds> </video> I also noticed a new codec tag showing in Media Info section in the web GUI. And this says XVID which looks promising. I then finally refreshed this movie title in native Kodi using the local information aka the .nfo. However the XVID flag was still missing. So I then edited the new .nfo file generated by Emby and removed the character ";" after xvid <codec>xvid</codec> I then refreshed the title again in native Kodi and now the XVID flag is showing correctly. I need to test with more of the titles previously mentioned in this thread. But three questions. 1. Should the semi colons been in the .nfo file after the xvid ? As this seems to be incorrect. 2. What was this new codec tag functionality introduced for? This issue or something else ? 3. Also what is micodec <micodec>xvid;</micodec> ? Thank you.
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) This is the Media Info shown in the web GUI for the title "Year One" as of this time last year actually, when I posted previously in this thread. Just for comparison, everything looks the same except for the new codec tag field. Actually I just noticed there is also a new TITLE field for the audio and says "MP3 Stereo" The audio tag in native Kodi says "MP3" not sure what this was before the refresh but was likely the same. cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Looking at a second title now "Captain Philips" currently in native Kodi the XVID icon is missing the audio icon is there and is a Dolby one. Here is the stream details in the existing Emby created .nfo <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1186757</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97604</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>134</duration> <durationinseconds>8044</durationinseconds> </video> Again I removed this nfo and refreshed the title in Emby to create a new one <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid;</codec> <micodec>xvid;</micodec> <bitrate>1186757</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97604</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>134</duration> <durationinseconds>8044</durationinseconds> </video> Again there is the semi colons after the xvid which seem to be wrong to me? I then refreshed the title in native Kodi and the XVID icon is still missing, I then manually edited the nfo and removed the semi colon in the </codec> tag and refreshed the title again in native Kodi and now the XVID icon is showing OK. So same as before. Looking in the Media Info section in the Emby web GUI there is no "Codec Tag" entry this time, not sure why that is? Edited January 12, 2017 by cw-kid
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Here is a DIVX example "Welcome to me" Existing .nfo created by Emby DIVX icon is missing in native Kodi <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1932343</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>400</height> <aspect>16:9</aspect> <aspectratio>16:9</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>87</duration> <durationinseconds>5239</durationinseconds> </video> I then removed the nfo file and refreshed the title in the Emby web GUI to generate a new one <streamdetails> <video> <codec>mpeg4</codec> <micodec>mpeg4</micodec> <bitrate>1932343</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>400</height> <aspect>16:9</aspect> <aspectratio>16:9</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>87</duration> <durationinseconds>5239</durationinseconds> </video> As expected after refreshing the title in native Kodi the DIVX icon is still missing. Looking at the Media Info in the Emby web GUI there is no "Codec Tag" field.
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Should probably state that the Emby server is Version 3.1.272.0 beta Thanks
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 @@Luke Looking in native Kodi in the recently added movies section it seems some of the new movies I have added are showing XVID flags OK. For example "Deepwater Horizon" is showing an XVID flag. <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid;</codec> <micodec>xvid;</micodec> <bitrate>795924</bitrate> <width>640</width> <height>272</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>107</duration> <durationinseconds>6392</durationinseconds> </video> And looking at the Media Info in the GUI it does have this "Codec Tag" Yet two of those movie titles I did manually refresh did not get this new "Codec Tag". There is another new movie title called "Sully" that in native Kodi has a missing codec flag. <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid;</codec> <micodec>xvid;</micodec> <bitrate>882106</bitrate> <width>640</width> <height>272</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97602</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>96</duration> <durationinseconds>5751</durationinseconds> </video> Media Info in the web GUI, which is showing the "Codec Tag" but no codec icon in native Kodi even after refreshing the title again just now. So it appears some work has been done in this area, but strange why some new movie titles are showing an XVID flag and some are not. And also strange why some older existing titles that are manually refreshed then show an XVID flag and others do not. Thanks
cw-kid 192 Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 It appears that most of the new movie titles in native Kodi are now showing XVID flags, but there are some that do not. Here is another fairly new movie title that has no XVID flag showing in native Kodi "Allegiant" <streamdetails> <video> <codec>xvid;</codec> <micodec>xvid;</micodec> <bitrate>1336788</bitrate> <width>720</width> <height>304</height> <aspect>2.35:1</aspect> <aspectratio>2.35:1</aspectratio> <framerate>23.97604</framerate> <scantype>progressive</scantype> <default>False</default> <forced>False</forced> <duration>121</duration> <durationinseconds>7233</durationinseconds> </video> For this title I tried removing the nfo file and refreshing it in Emby to generate a new nfo file. However upon then refreshing the title in native Kodi the XVID flag is still missing. I suspect if I removed the semi colon from the nfo it would then work. But why are these other titles showing XVID flags OK? And they have semi colons after the word xvid in the nfo file. I then removed the title all together from the native Kodi movie library. Upon scanning the title back in to the native Kodi movie library the XVID flag is still missing. Very confusing.
Luke 42078 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I see where the extra semi-colon is coming from so that's being removed, thanks.

So what about this new "Codec Tag" in the Media Info shown in the Emby web GUI. Why do some movie titles have it and some do not ?
