Houseofbricks 0 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 First off, apologies if I'm asking any beginner questions here - I'm just getting started with Emby (transitioning from WMC at last) and I'm really pretty excited about the possibilities. I've got my live TV coming through the HD Homerun perfectly, but of course it's the MPEG2 stream coming directly from the cable. I'd love to be able to transcode the video (ideally) as it is recording or (otherwise) post-recording into a more manageable h264 size. Are either of those possible? How do I specify what resolution, format etc I transcode to?
Luke 42077 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hi, welcome. Yes this is planned for the future, to convert on the fly during the recording process.
clarencehj 0 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Hi.. Is emby able to read and display your mpeg 2 files from your HomeRun Device? I have an HD homerun device but enby wont connect to it so I have MythTV controlling it. After MythTV creates the recordings I tried to piont emby to the directories to read the files. Emby cant read anything except for movies files (mpeg4) that I create with tools like Handbrake. How did you connect emby to your HDHomeRun unit?
ebr 16169 Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 It has to be one of the newer HDHR models that supports DLNA. My guess is your's isn't.
