Heuer 76 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I am using a Nvidia Shield with EATV but whilst every type of media plays instantly and flawlessly I can't get Live TV streams to work. The Guide displays but clicking on a current program just produces a rotating circle. Recorded TV plays back perfectly. I am using a HTPC as a server with a Core i3 2100 and 4Gb RAM, Win7 and a DBS twin tuner. Any thoughts?
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 What Live TV service? Sounds like it isn't delivering a url we can direct stream. Does it work if you turn off the option to direct stream Live TV?
Heuer 76 Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Thanks ebr - turning off 'Direct Stream Live TV' solved the problem. The DVB-S2 tuners obviously need the BBC/ITV streams to be transcoded for the Shield to play them. Not directly your problem I know but I can't play live TV on my Nexus 6 with EA - I get the internal player returning 'Playback error. Please try again later'. Is that a player (VLC?) issue not being able to handle the broadcast stream format although I thought it would be automatically transcoded if required?
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 That sounds like maybe the exact same problem but the mobile app doesn't have an override for not direct streaming Live TV.
