Question about the resume function

Hi folks

I'm sorry it's been a coulpe of posts from me lately wondering about different functions.. I have a problem that when I quit out from an episode, it tends to remember where I left it only once or twice.. If I start it several times and stop it again, it resumes from an earlier state than I left it.. I want it to resume exactly where I left it.. What am I doing wrong here? Is it a setting that I need to set?

Also when I have watched a movie to the end-text and quit the movie, it doesn't get marked as watched.. I have to manually check it as watched.. Why is that?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

it should already do that, but if you leave off near the beginning or end it might clear it thinking you've watched either none or all

And IIRC, there are settings in the server to determine the min percentage viewed to allow resume and and a max percentage viewed to consider the movie fully watched.

Although, there have been instances where the kids start and stop a movie multiple times in short succession and Emby has trouble remembering the resume point - I assumed because they didn't give Emby a chance to update the "bookmark" before messing with the movie again.

Thanks for your reply, but that's not exactly what's happening. I had watched a Fargo episode for fifteen minutes or so, and then I watched five or ten more minutes. I saw that the subtitles were out of sync and I had to quit the video and start it again.. Same happened and I had to turn it off again after a while. It was resumed at the same point three or four times.. Like it was stuck at that point.. Even the day after too!

I had several of my TV episodes lose media info with this last server release - which caused the apps to not know their run-time and, thus, affected the ability to resume properly.  Refreshing those items brought back the proper media info and resume/seek functionality.

Is it possible that the episode you had this problem with is/was missing media information?

This was only one example. I've had this with other episodes aswell actually.. It's something I can learn to live with, but it's slightly annoying. Especially when I want to watch 5 - 10 minutes of an episode on the tram omw to work etc

EDIT: It came to my mind that my old D-Link router has some hiccups every now and then. It has only fast ethernet connection, and my guess is that maybe the server does not snap up my marks because of my router.. I'm gonna buy a new one.. On the other hand I didn't have this problem with Plex. Hard to know where the problem lies
