tymanthius 18 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 So, I have a lot of movies that Emby won't grab the pictures for. Plex is using the same file system to play from, and it grabs posters just fine for it (and stores them in a different place). If I go to my Kids Movies (the section that I care more about b/c she's 3 - pictures are everything) in metadata manager and do a refresh, it doesn't seem to help. Permissions seem fine. Any thoughts?
tymanthius 18 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Ok, I'm still fighting this issue and need some help. I recently moved the library & refreshinfo db's out to a diff dir to see if that would help as it was listed as possible (but unsupported) fix. It changed things, but it didn't fix it. Still not getting posters consistently. In 'poster' view I don't have a poster for American Sniper. But in 'List' View there is one, is a good example of inconsistency. But MOST of my movies don't have posters/banners/thumbs/etc. This is annoying the ever-living fsck out of me. I'll be happy to post logs but if I know what to look for, I may can find it myself. See attached for how my views look. List: Posters: Thumbs:
gstuartj 40 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I've run into this occasionally and wish I had gotten log files. In any case, have you tried using the Metadata Manager to do a refresh, replacing all existing images? (Menu>"Metadata Manager">"Refresh" from main menu, Menu>"Edit">"Refresh" from episode info page) Set the dropdown menu to "Replace existing images" and see what happens. This has fixed missing image issues for me in the past.
tymanthius 18 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Multiple times!! I'm actually trying that with just ONE movie right now to see if it will do anything. EDIT: Yea, that didn't work. I'm almost thinking it's a permissions issue, but the permissions look good to me. :/ Edited January 13, 2016 by tymanthius
tymanthius 18 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Ok, I am seeing some odd things in the log. Search on Book.Of.Life and look at the errors. I've tried to update & save this movies meta data mulitple times. emby-server.zip
tymanthius 18 Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 emby-server.zip Try again. Used 7z to zip it. First time was 'ultra' settings which are my default.
tymanthius 18 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 i would try running a library scan. I've done that. Multiple times. I have a scheduled task that runs every 15 mins to grab new tv shows fastest. Usually takes less than 5 to run. I've run manual scans too, and nothing. Is there a way to do a 'super-duper-deep-scan'?
geaves 13 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 'Could' this be a directory naming problem..... current; The.Book.of.Life.2014.1080p.BluRay.x264-GECKOS mine would be as an example; The Book of Life (2014) I don't know perhaps that is what is causing the problem with metadata manager.
tymanthius 18 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 I sure hope not, b/c most of these are torrents & don't want to have to copy them & use double the space. I'll have to figure out how to mass edit & create symlinks if so. But I'll test that.
tymanthius 18 Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Ok, I renamed the Book Of Life this way for the folder & the file: The.Book.of.Life.2014.1080p Still not getting images for it. So I'm lost.
thefirstofthe300 292 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 ImageMagick looks like something is wrong with it to me. What is the ImageMagick version?
tymanthius 18 Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 That could be it, as I don't seem to have imagemagick installed . . . BTW, I used some hints from geaves and used filebot w/ a script. That got most of the metadata, but some movies aren't in their own directories, so filebot couldn't catch those. I'll install imagemagick & see if that helps.
tymanthius 18 Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Ok, I think I finally got it. I kept coming back to it looking like a permissions issue, and I think that was it. I *thought* I had all the groups/users correct (and mostly did/do), but when I finally went ahead and changed emby to run w/ my generic theater user / group that all my other apps run in, it's all happy now. Or seems so. Updating images and seeing now. 1
geaves 13 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Great, at least you've managed to get it sorted
