Can't play anything from server, other issues as well

I installed Emby to an Ubuntu machine last week and that process was fine. The biggest problem I'm having is that, after browsing to a file, I can't play it. It crashes my Roku, Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 2 tells me it has a problem playing and to check the log. If I play it on the web client on a (Windows) laptop it works just fine.

Another annoyance is that sometimes images don't seem to download. If I manually search for the images in the metadata editor then it always finds some, but when I click the download button nothing comes up, it just send me back.

Finally (for now), when I made my library I only had two series in tv, so the image for that library only has those two images repeated. How do I update it to reflect my new library?

Hi there, for your Roku I would make sure to update firmware. Look what happened here after he upgraded his roku:

Happy camper again :)

I updated to both versions, testing each time. This didn't change anything, but I do have an update from the afternoon that I made my original post.

Now, instead of crashing, it just quits trying to load the file. I can play some of my files, but haven't tested each individual one because of how many there are. So far only one file has played successfully and the others have not. The successful one is an mp4, but other mp4's do not play.

Is there a log that I can check that might point me in the right direction?

Hi, sorry to hear this. Please see here under Media Playback Issues for additional info you can provide:
