Will the new ET be able t use XMLTV format for an EPG?

It will support the Live TV features that are used by Emby Server.

Support of XMLTV format guide via OTA capture would be great. There are tools that can do this, and the guide is totally free. Now *that* would be a great feature. This is the only thing holding me back from using Emby for live TV at the moment. If you don't want to subscribe to Schedules Direct, there's nothing else available currently.

I dont mind subscribing to Schedules direct for EPG but they dont support Czech free to air stations.

All have OTA EPG or easy XMLTV available but that thats not supported here yet.

I use NextPVR with OTA TV here in AUS and always have up to date access to the guide in Emby via the NextPVR plugin. You just need to set up NextPVR properly and have it running in the background to get the guide updates.

Yeah. My only problem with that is it's not free. NextPVR is... :)

I'm also in Aus. I seem to flip between mediaportal backend and WMC. I find WMC better for Kodi as it integrates series recording better. I find mediaportal better for Emby as the series record on Emby works well. In both cases the backend is the tvguide/schedular. The quality of the guide is dependant on the data and therefore the file naming (episode info).

I really don't think it's worth paying for Icetv when a free program like EPGCollector can do an xmltv for mediaportal or import direct into WMC depending on which backend you use. I also find getting the info from the mheg5 stream (freeview) is far better than the OTA stream as it has the episode titles.

I then run MCEbuddy which moves my shows or movies from the recorded tv section into the Emby library. MCEbuddy does a good job of stripping the adverts. And converting WMC files to a MP4 format.
