Music tracks still served as mp3 instead of opus

As per 3.0.5782.0 release notes, music should be served as opus instead of mp3 on supported browsers. While testing in chrome, I still get mp3 192 served. Original files are flac, server is on 3.0.5782.0 - I'll attach transcode logs.

Well, we query the browser to detect opus support, so maybe your version of chrome is not reporting it as being supported.

Chrome version is 47.0.2526.106 m on windows. From what I can tell it should be supported. On Opus Codec example page, I can play all audio files: https://www.opus-codec.org/examples/

I also downloaded the latest version of firefox and get the same results.

yea but the difference there is they are just trying to play it and reporting the result on the test page. in our case, we're asking the browser if it supports it so that we can decide which format to use.

Oh yeah I understand. The problem persists though: up to date chrome and firefox browsers are getting served mp3 192. Could this have something to do with the server instead of the client's browser? I mean, if your saying that both those browsers are reporting that they do not support the codec... then it's pretty much useless. Or is there any settings to adjust? Because I couldn't find any.

Anyway, would you like the server log?

In Chrome 48.0.2564.48 beta-m on Windows machine, Opus works here.

Thx, will try that before anything else!

Alright so I am now on Chrome 48.0.2564.48 beta-m. When connected to the server through Emby Connect, I will still get served mp3 192. When connected directly to the server on the LAN, I get opus as expected.

Edit: Same thing on Chrome 47.0.2526.106 m. Connecting through Emby Connect (app.emby.media) breaks it. Otherwise all seems to be ok.

Ok, that's because the online web client hasn't been updated with the new release yet.
