BobbyDing 56 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Hi Folks, I just removed the nPVR plugin to try two new tuners via EMBY (no plugin). EMBY sees the tuners and the guide data is being pulled from SD. Only when I try and play any channel I get an error. From the attached log file "Unable to write data to the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." The drive and recording directory are present. I tried disabling the firewall. This is the EXTEND tuners and they are set to mobile for the trans-code in their web page. Any ideas? Thanks, Bobby Log_12-29.txt.txt
BobbyDing 56 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 EMBY Server. Selecting from the guide.
BobbyDing 56 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) Just to see what happens, I just tried to play a channel on my Roku. It dumped out to the Roku desktop. Log attached. What's odd it that it was working last night with one EXTEND tuner and the nPVR plugin. The EXTENDS work with HDHR View app. I'm wondering, since I ran the HDHR setup software when installing the second tuner, if that could have changed some setting. I also removed the nPVR plugin when I installed the second EXTEND. Also, previously recorded shows still play fine, if that helps any. Log_2.txt Edited December 29, 2015 by BobbyDing

The server is unable to reach your tuner, so check that the tuner ip address is correct in live tv setup, and ensure the tuner is powered on and connected to the network. It's unable to reach this url. Also ensure the has the HDHR Dlna features. http://192.168.1.22/lineup.json
BobbyDing 56 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 Thanks for the reply(s). I copied that url into IE and it loaded the data (list of channels in text form). But I did have to confirm it when IE came back with "Do you want to open or save lineup.json from 192.168.1.22?" I also entered this URL into another machine on the network using IE and it loaded right up without asking permission. Would this be the issue? I spent the last two hours setting up nPVR to use these tuners and they do work for that software. So what would keep only EMBY from accessing the tuners? Some security setting? Thanks, Bobby
BobbyDing 56 Posted December 30, 2015 Author Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) Luke, It's working now. I un installed and re installed EMBY server (clearing the cache and logs). But it still failed to play from the tuner(s). I switched to Chrome instead of IE and now it plays on the server machine and the Roku (???). Maybe the re install fixed the Roku part. But it still fails to play when using IE on the server. I checked the IE security settings as well as UAC and they were set to low. Could IE suddenly not know what to do with .json files? Luke 42083 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 the json file is read by the server, not the browser. as far as what the problem was, who knows. I know you said that you put those urls in a browser but maybe something changed during the time in between. all i can really say is at the time of the entries in the server log, that url was unavailable. IE can be pretty difficult. what version of windows and what version of IE?
Luke 42083 Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Ok, on windows 7 I would stick to Chrome or Firefox. What we're trying to do with live tv playback is extremely difficult to pull of with IE on windows 7. IE 11 on windows 8 has additional features that make it more stable so you could also consider upgrading.
