connection issue

I installed emby with docker on my ubuntu 14.04 but it seems to have connection issues. I cannot add my support key, check for updates , plugin updates or add my emby connect account

 

here is what i used to launch emby the first time:

docker run -d --net=host -v /home/saitoh183/.embydata:/config -v /media/videos:/media -e TZ="America/Toronto" --name=EmbyServer emby/embyserver

yea all outbound http requests are failing. probably getting blocked by something although i'm not sure by what.

i dont think the firewall is enabled because i read that it is disabled by default. All my other programs are running just fine (ie: sonarr, sickrage, couch..etc). I dont know where or what to check.
