runtimesandbox 171 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I am planning on moving my server from ubuntu to centOS 7 and have a few questios The main reason in doing this is to utilise the intel quick sync technology and I would rather not have to use Windows to do this. My questions are: Has anyone hear used the hardware acceleration on centos and if so how difficult is it to get working If I run centos as a VM in either proxmox or xenserver can i still benefit from intel quick sync?
youl94 3 Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I have done this last year. Emby work fine on CentOS 7 under Proxmox 3.4, except for a Mail Notification Problem.. I use vitrio driver for hard disk with cache writeback and for network to I have not try intel quick sync.. that depend of your CPU unit.. I don't think that Proxmox or Xenserver have driver for use it.. and the VM use virtual driver... I think a compatible operating system/driver combination needs to be used for this to work.
youl94 3 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I have looking for your trick this week. I think is possible to do this.. See https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Pci_passthrough I have not tested this... but if you do that.. Tell me more please.
runtimesandbox 171 Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Looks interesting! I will give it a try next time I have some time too
