hector 1 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 The order of movies in boxsets appears to be arbitrary. It will be great to be ordered by release. e.g. Iron Man Collection[ironMan, Iron Man 2, Iron Man3]
BigGoose62 71 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Here's what you do. Edit the collection's info in MB3, and set each movie's sort title to whatever you want it to be. For example, my James Bond Collection has the sort title James Bond Collection 1 for Dr. No. Then every movie after has a sort title with James Bond Collection X, so that they still show their real title, but show up in the proper order. And a final hint. I like to keep my files organized as well, not just when viewing in MBT. So I put the [ ] brackets around the correct number of a movie in its particular set. These numbers are not used by MB3 or MBT, but keeps the movies in their correct order. Hope this helps.
ebr 16169 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Just FYI, when dealing with sort titles - they are never visible anywhere so just something like '001' '002' will do - no need to do all the other name typing. You should use leading zeros though because the sort is alpha based (although, I think we plan to improve it to be more intelligent about numbers).
hector 1 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) I am not quite sure I follow. I should not have to edit the collection's info for this particular sort. It should be the default. When using the web client, the behavior is correct. Each boxset shows the movie in order of release. When viewing the same boxset in media browser theatre, the order is off. Using the iron man collection example, MBT's view currently shows the following order: Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Iron Man. Box sets with more movies (e.g. Harry Potter) are even more problematic when you have to look through the entire list for the next movie in the series to watch Edited December 11, 2013 by hector
Luke 42077 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 you guys don't need to do anything. it will be fixed in a future mbt build 2
GrotShot 28 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Having installed the Auto Boxset plugin, I also notice that MBC does not order as per the boxsets "Title Display Order" setting of "Release Year": 4:3 pc monitor image but you get the idea!
