So I am completely independent of Mediaportal, NextPVR, ServerWMC and so on ?

I can install my TV card ( Digital Device ) with my CAM straight into Emby to receive live TV, EPG and recording - totally independent  of others ?

No, Emby's core live tv is only working with HDHomerun DLNA tuners!

With HDHomerun it is.

I am not familiar with CAM, can you elaborate?

 

Regardless, right now anything outside of HDhomerun will require a back end that and an emby plugin.
