Bug: Existing Series Recordings don't schedule new episodes

I'm on the latest stable server (.8) on Windows 10 Pro.

This had been a bug before but I think it has come back in one of the recent releases. It's hard to say which though due to the break in programming over December.

I have a number of series recordings set up and noticed yesterday after my guide data started including January 7 and 8 (winter premiers of Supergirl and Limitless for example) that the new episodes were not getting scheduled.

I had Both set to record on any day, channel and time. Supergirl was set to record all episodes and Limitless was set to record only new episodes.

I tried flipping the New Episodes setting back and forth and saving but still no episodes got scheduled.

Finally I deleted the series recordings and recreated them. Now the new episodes in the first week of January are being scheduled.

Hi Luke, is there a way to force running the recordings scheduler? I won't be able to try grabbing logs until I see this happen again as I can't think of a way to reproduce it. Alternatively I'll see if o can find the logs from last night when I saw this happen and worked around it.

Beyond logs was there something else specific you felt was missing? I tried to be as detailed as I could in my original post.

Hi Luke,

Here is the log file from the time where I found the issue and ultimately deleted the recording rules and recreated them.

Around 22:29:53 you can see me delete the series recording rule for Supergirl.  Right before that there are a bunch of calls to LiveTV recordings where I was trying to get it to pick up the January 7th showing and schedule it, but failing.

I'm not sure if this gives you anything to work with though since all the listings of series timers, etc. is by programid rather than title?

Ok just had to delete and recreate another series recording - this time Dinosaur Train. It had been created as New Episodes Only but I wanted to change it to record old episodes too. Editing the existing rule did not cause it to schedule any recordings despite it being shown at least once a day. I deleted the rule and created it again and it scheduled them all.

I'm on my phone now but will upload the relevant logs later today.

Ok a bit more info as I just had this happen with a new series recording I was setting up.

Last fall I had been recording The Muppets but deleted the rule due to conflicts with more important shows.

Today I noticed I had guide data for The Muppets starting on Jan 4 again. I created a new series rule but set it to record new only. Nothing got scheduled so I looked more closely and saw it was repeats showing. I changed the rule to not be limited to new only but it still didn't schedule. I deleted the rule and recreated it to not be limited to new only and then it scheduled them.

Seems it doesn't reschedule when you change that parameter?

I suppose that could be a separate issue from the fact that old series rules aren't picking up new episodes anymore :(

Luke,

I just noticed this on yet another series recording but saw something in the logs I had missed before. It is present in the log attached above too (22:27, 22:32). I am getting "SeriesId is null" in the response when I (re)save an existing series timer.

Based on current logs it seems to also produce this error right after an epg refresh
