elpirate 5 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Thanks for the response. I have enabled DLNA debug logging, however, I haven't restarted my server. Is this critical for DLNA debug logging to work? Does it create a seperate log for the DLNA activity? I will restart the server and see what happens! Thanks
Happy2Play 9780 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 It doesn't create a different log, but a restart is required for the logging to change.
elpirate 5 Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 It doesn't create a different log, but a restart is required for the logging to change. Well I restarted my server. After 30 minutes where it looked like it had maybe shut down but provided no facility for me to start it up again (dashboard still said "shutdown server") I turned the Emby app off in applications whilst in QTS then turned it on again. As a result, DLNA isn't working again! (It started working when i restarted my Qnap the other day, this was after my discussions in this thread: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/42272-emby-does-not-appear-as-dlna-device/ ) I will restart my Qnap again today to see if it comes back. Otherwise I will have to wait until next version release.
elpirate 5 Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) SO after a Qnap restart the DLNA server appeared again. Logging didnt change as I had debug logging already enabled as a whole (not just DLNA) Emby identifies my device with the info I had entered. I put this down to the server & Qnap restart (I hadnt restarted since changing or customizing the profile for my Telstra T Box). How can I completely disable transcoding though? It still wants to transcode a particular movie that it shouldnt need to. I have deleted all of the trascoding settings from y profile and set it to direct play all of the file formats listed (see screen shots). What more do I do? Also, does anyone know what the requirements are for Emby to track watched status from a DLNA device? Are there any settings that need to be adjusted? The log suggests it is collecting the info from the DLNA client but it doesn't seem to update on the Emby server. Thanks Edited December 17, 2016 by elpirate
