carps624 0 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 (edited) I had emby running on Ubuntu 14.04.3 and all was well for a while, however one day it started to use all the memory and would basically grind the OS to a halt. I uninstalled it and things were back to normal. I reinstalled emby and am having problems logging in - I was greeted with the set up wizard and went through it. That seemed to create a duplicate user linked to my emby account but I still couldn't log in. I reset the password on both accounts and was able to log in, then tried to remove one duplicate account. The user removal didn't seem to complete, and after I attempted that I couldn't log in. I stopped and restarted emby, and was greeted again with the set up wizard. All along this process I was only able to access the dashboard once, but no more. Is there a way I can remove any/all users? Or is there a way I can start from scratch and and go through having to set things up again? UPDATE I have things working a little better - I can access emby through http://app.emby.media/and logging in with my account info, however I can't access it from my IP - every time I try using my IP I end up getting the set up wizard. Anyone know how I can fix this? Edited December 22, 2015 by carps624
geaves 13 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 To do a totally clean install, which I had to do recently in terminal (ctrl+alt+t) type sudo apt-get remove --purge emby-server wait for it to complete then sudo apt-get autoremove you will then have to confirm y then enter. At this point I usually reboot. Once back up from the terminal (if you don't want to remove the key and emby list from synaptic) sudo apt-get update once complete then sudo apt-get install emby-server, this will install a clean emby-server which you will have to reconfigure. Good luck.
