AvengersFan 10 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Hi all, I have a issue whereby one day I can play a file directly, but the next day if I go back to watch the remainder of the show I get a file not found error, do you want to remove the file. I have a NAS with media stored there and I have the server on my Windows machine, both are on. Nothing gets added or changed (except auto turn on before I get home) so I am confused as to why I would get this message the next day when the day before all was ok? I know my path subs are correct otherwise it wouldn't have played the day before. When I setup my library, in order to negate the need for path substitutes, would it better and or possible to add the direct path there so as to avoid path subs, and if so what address is better, A or B \\192.168.0.100\Television Or NFS//192.168.0.100/RAID0/DATA/Television Thank you :-) Mark
ebr 16187 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 You didn't say what app you were using... Also, just because a location is available at one time doesn't mean it is at another. It may be a sleeping drive or a network issue or any number of other things.
AvengersFan 10 Posted December 17, 2015 Author Posted December 17, 2015 Ah sorry, I have a pi2 with openelec in one room which is on 24/7 and a Windows htpc in another. When they were both mapped directly to the NAS, I never had issues with playback. And what do you mean just because a location is available at one time it isn't in another? What's the point of a NAS if that's the case? Thanks.
ebr 16187 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I just mean any sort of thing like a drive sleeping or a network connection dropping could cause the location to not be available at any time. I would suggest chasing this down with the Kodi guys in our Kodi forum. I'll bet they'll know exactly where to look.
