I don't know what happened with recent updates but my wathed status is trashed. I had about 20 unwatched movies and now I have 697 out of 807. Is something wrong with a recent update? How am I going to fix it?

if you use sonarr make sure it's nfo writing is disabled. there is a known issue there. really the same goes for any other program that might nfo files, you need to make sure they are preserving the data

Ha, I don,t even know what that is. It is a Windows machine. I haven't touched any thing I can think of. Other then I use metabrowser for my meta data. I ran that through the entire library a week or so ago so that the tvdb number would get added to make movie theme video work.

Well there's your answer then . Metabrowser is another external program that has altered your nfo files. Why does emby not populate tvdb for you? Edited by Vidman

Sorry it was the TMDB that I was populating, I have always just done the IMDB. I have tried the MB scraper and just don't care for how it works. Plus MB won't download current trailers for me so I need metabrowser for that. I don't know why what I did should affect the watch status, and if if did why didn't it clear all of them out?

Here's a guess at what happened.

We store user-data (watched status) by a global identifier so that it isn't tied to a specific location for something but, instead, is tied to the actual movie or episode.  Our preferred identifier is probably tmdb but we will use the IMDb ID if that doesn't exist.

So, since you used an external program that wasn't filling in the tmdb ID all of your user-data got stored with the IMDb ID.

Then you added tmdb IDs for a bunch of things.  Now we are looking for their user data using that ID instead.

I'm not really sure how we can handle this particular situation.

Got it, makes sense I guess. I will be going through the list and rechecking I guess. Learned a lesson, make sure I fill in both both IMDB and TMDB .

or just use emby for metadata and everything will be a lot simpler for you

If you would make MBTrailers download current trailers I probably would. I have tried using the MB scraper and it just doesn't seem as easy to use for some reason, but the trailers is the big thing holding me back.

Sorry, but we simply cannot download content.

To fix your current situation, I suggest the following:

  • Remove the Tmdb ID from all the items you added it to (or if you have a backup of the xml or something)
  • Refresh said items (a library scan may suffice since the metadata changed)
  • Now your watched status' should be restored
  • Install Trakt and use it to sync your status'
  • Re-add the Tmdb IDs, refresh and sync your status back down from Trakt.

But why are you considering them as being tied together? You can still use Emby for metadata and metabrowser for it's other features.

I just so use to using it that it is fast and easy for me. Have to pay to have it so I figure I might as well make use of it.
